Curt Manufacturing 13043 Class III Receiver Hitch

Well made. Solid. Fits perfectly. Same brand U Haul carries. Unobtrusive and $800 + less than the Lexus dealership part. Installed myself in my driveway in 10 minutes using my ratchet wrench and a 19mm socket (lowered spare tire 2"). The included spacer plate makes the hitch fit perfectly just below the bumper. Took to my mechanic to torque mounting bolts (at 86 lb. feet) which he did for free. Black gloss paint finish matches my Lexus perfectly.

This was exactly what I needed. The weight capacity is somewhat less than the full OEM style but my primary purpose is for transport bicycles on a rack. It looks right and goes on easily assuming you have access to a torque wrench.

This fits the Lexus GX 460 perfectly, it just requires a spacer that Curt will give you for FREE. After reading many reviews I purchased this off Curt's Amazon page for $75 below MSRP and it got to me 2 days later. When I went to put it on my 2017 GX 460 it wouldn't sit flush without pressing on the bumper considerably. So I went back to Amazon to look at more reviews/questions/answers. Multiple questions/answers about GX 460's said to get Curt's spacer in order for it to fit my 2017 GX 460 premium. I searched high and low for this spacer online to no avail, including Curt’s website. I had pretty much given up and was looking for local metal shops to fabricate me a stainless steel spacer that would fit. Right before I headed over to my local metal shop to have the spacer measured and cut I randomly decided to give Curt a call. After sitting on hold for ten minutes a gentleman picked up the phone and I explained what my dilemma was. He said that it should fit my vehicle but he would find an expert/engineer to double check about my issue. Fifteen minutes later he returned, telling me that in fact I would need a spacer and longer bolts. Expecting to pay for these extra parts I pulled out my credit card. The service rep only asked for my name/address to ship the parts and they were shipped the next morning and arrived to my house 4 days later (East Coast). This is why Curt is my go to for trailer parts/accessories. Yes, some of their accessories are made in China, (heavy duty steel is heavy duty steel) but they are still an American company. Their customer service is top notch and they stand behind their products.

Great hitch. Fits perfect and easy install and n 2023 Lexus GX460

Easy to install on a 2018 GX460 with the sport appearance package. For my application, I had to remove a trim piece from the bottom center of the bumper. It uses 4 plastic push in rivets that require you to carefully pry the head up in order to remove the rivet. Keep the trim piece or recycle it. I doubt you'll put it back on once the hitch is installed. Once you remove the trim piece, you can drop the spare slightly, align your hitch with the holes from the factory and install. Bring the spare back up after the install is completed. The spare moves very slightly forward to accommodate the hitch placement. FYI, there is a small access panel on the top of the bumper, near the center that you pry up (carefully) with a screwdriver or plastic trim panel tool. The rods to lower the spare tire are in the swing out door. It is self explanatory once you remove the tools and find the access port. Follow the directions to tighten the hitch mounting bolts to the proper torque for your vehicle. If you do not have a torque wrench, some auto parts stores will rent one to you for the day. The hitch worked well for a 1200 mile trip the next day. No complaints. Our 2018 GX460 was prewired with a 4 way flat and round 7 way. The connectors are on the driver's side behind the bumper. One last tip - I bought a 4 way flat extension since the trailer's stock wiring was too short. This is likely due to where Lexus places the trailer connectors, which is back and to the left of the hitch. Hopefully this arms you with some additional information when you tackle the job.

Very easy install on Lexus gx 450

The Curt hitch appears to be nice quality and nicely finished. I installed this on a 2019 Lexus GX460. I searched for an aftermarket Class IV hitch with no luck, so I settled on the Curt Class III hitch. It will reduce the towing capacity from 6500 lbs. to 5000 lbs., which is OK with me. The only real issue I had installing the hitch was the plastic piece of trim in the center of the rear bumper. I didn't like the hitch touching the bumper, so removed the trim to find Lexus did not nicely finish the bumper for that piece of trim to be removed. I then reinstalled the trim and installed the hitch. Note: It is definitely worth the extra five minutes to drop the spare tire about two inches when installing the hitch. The hitch does firmly press against the bumper, but I put a piece of protective film on the bumper to keep the hitch from rubbing the paint. I read different reviews where people had metal plates made or used washers to drop the hitch 1/4 inch. Curt does not recommend the use of washers. I don't believe touching the bumper will cause it to crack/break, but if you don't use a piece of protective film it will likely wear on the paint. All in all, I'm happy, but wish Curt would drop the receiver about 1/4 inch to keep the hitch from touching the bumper.

It looks like what it is described on Amazon. It is rock solid and made of heavy-duty steel. It comes with 4 bolts and one spacer plate. To install the hitch receiver on 2022 Lexus GX 460 you need to release the spare tire a little bit (Lexus User Manual has instruction to show how to release spare tire) then ties it back. Overall, I am pretty happy with the quality of the product. It is easy to install.

wrong details - this hitch does not fit lexus gx 2022 I bought it and now I can not also return it

Bad product - Doesn’t fit our Lexus GX 460 vehicles here in the UAE because there rare brace doesn’t have 4 bolt but has a two blots allocation. Your site product description is not correct. Get your facts correct because they vehicles are not the same here in UAE. You basically ripped me off $ amount. Great customer service….

Excellent hitch. Easy to install with one person in less15 min. Grade 8 bolts, nice finish.
