What’s the measurements please as i’m not sure if to buy x-large or large

I purchased this Kbethos blue hat in a large and the inside measurement of the cap (that goes around the head) is 22 inches. This fit me ok, however, I also purchased this hat in the white size large, but it was a bit too big. I decided to keep it because as the material is 100% cotton it will shrink slightly when washed.
