Sander
After the second time of use the diamond shaped tip became detached from the base. The velcro fastening is not sturdy enough. I am waiting for B&D to respond. To say I am disappointed after two uses is an understatement.

Generally good, one smallish design flaw
I had a previous model. The main difference with this new model is that there is a small detachable part under the detail pad (call this pad A) pad A is diamond shaped. This is so an even thinner pointier detail pad can be put on call this pad B) pad B is boat shaped. OK so pad A is attached by a hook and loop (velcro) surface. Unfortunately it rapidly detaches when in use, the hook and loop is not strong enough to retain it. (see Video). If you use a sanding paper which is all one piece (no separate detail part at the apex) it is OK but such sheets are I believe only available from third party companies (not B and D), so that is one solustion. Actually the design is strange because pad B is permanently bonded to it's plastic carrier, unlike pad A (hook and loop. So another solution would be to glue pad A to it's plastic carrier instead of relying on the hook and loop surface. This would have the disadvantage that you could not order a replacement detail pad and just plonk it into place, maybe use a glue gun to fix it so it can be got off heat application? I have fed this back to B&D. Of course the unit also comes with a circular "random" orbital backing disk. Since my alternatives were all circular disks only (no detail backing disk) even with this slight problem with the B&D, it puts it ahead of the competition. Otherwise it is a great sander, works really well and is very convenient. Unlike the earlier model this one has no speed controller on the motor but I do not find that a problem really.

A very good sander.
I needed an edging sander after recently renovating floor boards after my Wickes palm sander gave up. I'd had black and decker tools before and was happy with them and this fell into my budget after it was reduced in price. This did not disappoint. I used the disc attachment to rough down as it seemed to do a quicker job of sanding with the lower grade papers due to the vibration and spinning disc. It's spins slowly due the the vibrations. Then I used the normal attachment which, can be positioned with the point at the front or back, to get into tight spots and corners with higher grades. I didn't use the small attachment. Did what I expected it to do fairly quickly but the cheaper bulk papers I bought off here seemed to lose their grip fairly quickly. Whether more expensive papers are any better, I couldn't say. Is noisy, but they all are, and it did do a decent job of collecting dust but as with any sander, non are perfect but it did do a better job than the Wickes sander I had. You still need to wear a face mask. Attachments are easily changed due to the supplied Allen key which stores in the unit but sometimes you need a screwdriver to hold the disc in place when changing due to it spinning. Overall, I'd recommend if it's for DIY jobs around the house.

Dont use Orbital pad
Used this Sander 10 times was working fine untill decided to swap detail sander pad to orbital pad , and then motor rotor cut it off the winding wires . Sometimes 2 in 1 tools has some Imperfections

Black and decker 200 hand held sander.
I bought this to sand my gate to then re oil. I thought it was great and easy to use but also the small attachments for the nooks and crannies. Read instruction on how to use correctly and had purchased plenty of Velcro pads to replace as need. However the finger attachment is a ok at first but as I stopped to check progress and re start the finger attachment plastic thingy on main part of sander bust in fact it ricocheted out and off from the machine. I liked it and thought it had many positives and great to use but obviously returned due to the attachment not fit for purpose. Would I buy again yes but possible look at something else that is meant for awkward places to reach.

Difficult to use
Bought this but found it incredibly difficult to use to the point that it wasn’t fit for the purpose so I returned it but have yet to hear from Amazon if I will have my money refunded. The main problem was that parts of it shook themselves free of the body during use. The diamond shaped removable tip was not anchored to the body so every time the machine was switched in or lifted from the wood I was sanding the vibrations would sent the tip flying meaning 5-10 mins spent trying to find the damn thing. The Allen key which is housed within the body did the same thing after a few uses. As for the circular sanding part it came without the necessary foam washer meaning I couldn’t attach it at all. I used a metal one of my own but it became too hot. I continued to use it to finish my project as I had a deadline to meet but I’d say the job took almost three times as long with the machine malfunctioning as it was hence my decision to return it. All in all I was very disappointed with the tool, it’s sold as a 4 in 1 sander but I think it’s trying to hard to be all things and doing none of the functions very well.
