Pricey, But Well Worth It
I was buying aftermarket cartridges and while they are cheaper in price, they are also very much sub standard in performance. The ink is not as dark, I keep having to clean the heads, the ink dries out too quickly. So in the end, even though they are more expensive, the Epson OEM cartridges are much better. They leave a higher quality print and effectively last longer.

Good quality ink
I bought this ink for my Epson printer. It works well because it is the proprietary product. The ink system in these printers require the correct chemical mix. There are alternative brands that are cheaper, but they will dry in the cartridge carriage and in time ruin the printer. Spend the money, save the printer.

Always works; never seems to clog.
I don't use my Epson 4-in-one for much, so I don't mind the price for factory brand ink. Sadly, the printer did not take well to a cross-country move so it now sits and is used only as a scanner now.

Good replacement Ink expiry date.
I have an Epson printer that I really like. I find that I can get replacement Ink cartridges from Amazon that do not have and expired date on them. Most stores in this area have the Ink but it is expired.

Worth the Price
It's possible to purchase less expensive ink, but then you have to worry about if the cartridge will work in the printer. All printer makers are pretty aggressive about making it difficult to use re-filled or clone ink cartridges I think that it's worth the little bit extra for a cartridge that you know will work. Amazon has them for less than Staples or any other store has them right now
