GREAT PRICE, GREAT EYEPIECE!
I GOT TWO OF THESE FREE WITH A SCOPE I BOUGHT. I WANTED TO ADD TO THE COLLECTION ONCE I SAW HOW GOOD THEY ARE. VERY WELL MADE, SOLID AND NOT BULKY. GREAT AFoV!. NICE EYE RELIEF AS WELL. TELEVUE HAS NOTHING OVER THESE AND 82 DEGREES IS PLENTY OF UWA VIEWING. I HAD THE 8.8MM AND THE 24MM AND A TV BIG BARLOW ALL NEW FROM A DEAL ON A SCOPE I BOUGHT. HA...GOT THE SCOPE VIRTUALLY FREE. SO THE 11MM AND 14MM WERE ADDED. THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE 11 AND IT'S AS GOOD AS THE REST. SO'S ALL OF THEM BUT I'M ONLY REVIEWING THE 11MM HERE. IF YOU WANT UWA IN AN 11MM BUY THIS ONE!

Amazing

11mm ES is perfect magnification of viewing planets
i think the 11mm is the perfect for planets and moon ,, if less than than its becoming blurry and not enjoybale — the eye relief of 15.5mm is perfect

Great, but so far, not a bargian.
Great, but it should be for the price. The only problem is, on my old Celestron C8, a 2" Celestron Barlow and a $12 inexpensive 23mm eyepiece actually outperform this lens on planetary work!

High Quality Eyepiece
These are high quality eyepieces, the 82° field of view provides for more expansive star fields in a wide field format, and the Argon purged sealed optics prevent any internal condensation for longevity of premium performance. Excellent product.

New ? Used ? Not sure what’s going on ?
I’m got several other longer focal length Explorer eyepieces and think they are about the best you can expect unless you want to pay up for the Tele Vue’s. On sale, I don’t think you can find a better value. Yes, these reviews are not supposed to be based on price but how can you not factor in 50 - 60% markdowns ??? There are hundreds of reviews for the 82 deg line all over the internet. I can’t add anything new to those lengthy discussions , but I will add some concern about quality control. My unit was sold and delivered directly by Explore Scientific not an intermediary. The first delivery came in an open box with no shrink wrap. Who cares, but not like any of the other 4 Explore eyepieces I have. The inner wrapping was also clearly not “factory new”. The rubber eyecup was covered with dust and several big eyelashes ! Disgusting ! This was supposed to be “new” and was obviously a return that had not been inspected or cleaned. Not acceptable for a premium brand. A replacement was requested and showed up a month later. The replacement looked fine but I now have to question Explore’s QC practices and will be scrutinizing any further purchases very carefully.

Amazing optics
I may say. For the money the quality is exceptional. A greater magnification lights get dimmer but it happened with any eye piece. They are strong, design, the only problem that I found I get more Fils of view for my 68 degree 24 mm eye piece that with this 82 degrees
