UK buyers note this box is designed for USA A4 hanging files so UK A4 hanging files won't fit. It does take A4 wide paper - see pic (contrary to other reviews) but only takes "letter size" hanging files. In the UK I only found 3 or so outlets on Amazon that sell this size, since most UK outlets sell "A4" size which at 31.5cm wide is 1cm too wide. Otherwise a sturdy box that looks like it will suit our needs. It is quite heavy and with no handle is a bit cumbersome to move around. Unlike other reviewers I'm not bothered about the simplicity of the lock (we didn't get it for security, just for its fire proof capability) or the plastic clasp. The clasp is likely to melt in a fire but that's fine so long as the contents are protected. The supplier also states in the instructions that the box will need prizing apart after a fire but, so long as you register for the warranty, they will replace it for free. So no worries there. The lack of a handle is a bit annoying and the lack of a model that takes 31.5cm wide hanging files is perplexing for a product sold in the EU. Otherwise very happy so far. It also arrived 3 days early so well done SentrySafe!

Seems like a good quality, heavy safe. It arrived in a box which was un-damaged (which was great considering the weight and the distance it had travelled). The safe was pretty dusty/dirty I needed to wipe it down. It could do with being inside a bag first. Only problem is the inside is small! The A4 hanging files can be bought in the slightly narrower option so they fit inside but the metal hooks still make them too wide. As you can see in my pics the hanging files have to go in at an angle. As for A4 paper, if it's in an envelope it won't fit but take the paper out the envelope and it fits quite snug. I guess the Americans must sell different size hanging files.

I finally settled on this safe for my valuables after some long research on Amazon and after returning another safe of different brand I had bought earlier. Oh, boy, this safe is really heavy and durable. It requires a lot of strength to carry. The walls and the cover are very thick. No sharp edges which is a plus for such a heavy item. Good space inside. Has a good lock and its easy to open with a key. However, after some use, the rubber washer inside the door fell off and I had to glue it back in place. Relatively low profile making it easier to hide. Unlike many other safes on Amazon, this one seems well-made with precision.

Okay this is kind of my fault because I probably should’ve done the measurements on this but when you look at one of the photos it looks like this box except hanging files. Maybe it does but they must be very small hanging files because it does not accept A4 files which is the majority of the paperwork that we all have so yes this is gonna be okay for passports currency and jewelry etc. But no if you want to store photocopies of all your important documents it is completely useless so Buyer Beware Other than that it’s well-made looks nice etc and the delivery was incredibly fast.

At first I regretted not buying a smaller safe. The lid on this one was hard to close (until I figured out the trick) and this thing is really heavy. Yes it's fireproof (that's the main point, I know) but yeesh it's bulky! I had a smaller model (same brand) in the past and it was easy to stash on a shelf, pick up and move as required, etc. Inexplicably, SentrySafe makes that next size down just a little too small to fit letter-sized documents (we folded/rolled up a few). I wanted a safe big enough for a document or two, not a whole stash of documents and was annoyed I had to choose between something too small or too big. After a couple weeks, I'm warming up to this big clunky beast now. I've found plenty of important files to put inside it... now that I have such a nice place for them! And I do like being able to fit file folders, not just loose papers. I put my small objects in file folders too so everything is beautifully organized. I may never have a flood or fire (should hope not!) but I enjoy the peace of mind this gives me. And if nothing else, having a safe for any really important documents (eg. passports, wills for myself and parents, etc) makes it easy to find them on the rare occasions I need them. I'm not asking myself "what did I file that under???" and searching through my larger file unit for something I haven't seen in years. Actually, it was the stress of a misplaced passport that prompted me to buy this new safe in the first place (my ex kept our old one. If I'd kept it I wouldn't have had to search my house for my passport during my move! Drat). When this safe arrived, I lugged it into the house and wondered if I'd have trouble getting it up a flight of stairs I'm a petite female and my back isn't great. I was able to carry this upstairs without any grief --just get a good grip and lift with the knees! As for closing the lid, I learned that if I just put my elbow on the lid and put some of my weight onto it, I can snap the lid closed effortlessly. Otherwise the seal is hard to squish. Unless I put my weight on it, I simply can't get the lid closed. It comes with 2 elastic straps that are meant to go on the inside of the lid. Presumably as a place to stash small objects. The straps don't stay in place at all, not even for 2 seconds. I wasn't expecting straps with the product, and don't care. If you are expecting them though... um, don't. I found another use for the straps... so thanks SentrySafe for the perfect patio-umbrella ties!
