So Far, So Good
So far, the Tabletote is working out fine for me. It provides a nice platform for my 11-inch Dell laptop, a wireless mouse, and a Mi-Fi device. It is a very clever, efficient design.A few points to keep in mind:1. Insert and lock the legs into the top so they point outward at a slight angle. If you don't, the table will be extremely unstable.2. The telescoping legs seem solid enough if you twist them tightly to lock them. But if any part of the design scares me at all, it's the legs.3. Remember that you're dealing with a table with a limited-width base and most of the weight on top. If somebody gives it a good bump, it will tip over. If you plan to use it in an airport, try to stay as far away from people and roller bags as possible.4. The table-top extension also serves as the bottom cover when the telescoping legs are collapsed and stored inside the top. You slide this piece over part of the top (there's a groove in the sides) to create the extension.5. Don't slide the table-top extension out as far as it will go and put something heavy on it. At 75-percent extension, it's great for a mouse, a Mi-Fi, and a bottle of soda. More would be iffy. I certainly wouldn't attempt placing a laptop on the main section and a projector on the extension.6. Pay close attention to the manufacturer's weight restrictions. Then, be conservative, not exceeding 75 percent(ish) of what they suggest.7. The copy holder is a real MacGyver special. It looks like somebody cut the telescoping antenna off a boombox to create the vertical piece, added a generic piece of plastic as a horizontal hanger, and threw in a couple of binder clips (they really are just binder clips) to attach the paper to the cross piece. I honestly admire the ingenuity, and it seems to work for a sheet at a time.I'll give it five stars for now, because it's relatively inexpensive, portable. light, and does exactly what I need it to. I suspect, however, that the various pieces won't hold up exceptionally well to repeated use. But until that suspicion is confirmed, five stars it is.

it is Amazingly sturdy once you finally get it set up
For all it's light weight, it is Amazingly sturdy once you finally get it set up, correctly, and top it with your laptop. That said,... The instructions could use some fine-tuneing, i.e. they give no warning that pushing the center leg section all the way down, and tightening it,..will result in those center sections being impossible to UN lock,... by hand again. I had to resort to a fancy twist bottle-opener, which was almost ruined forfurther use, before I abandoned that plan as hopeless, and went for a small pair of channel-lock pliers, which finally did the job on 2 locked legs, without anynoticable damage to the legs. The best plan for that middle section appears to be not to lower it below that last/lowest height mark, and make the rest of yourheight adjustment using the lowest part of the legs. As for the legs themselves, to be attached,... oddly enough, I got them in correctly the first time I tried,..before I realized the height was too high for my chair, and removed the legs again to shorten the length,.... Once I accomplished that (after the frustrating battlewith the leg locks was solved,I tried to set them in with the recommended 10 degree angle ( how much is 10 degrees ? the diagram on the bottom of the table tries toshow but one still wonders,...what if I misjudge, and try to set them at 11 or 12 degrees,.. ? will that be too much to work ? or try at 8 or 9,...? will That be,too little ? In the end I learned that's not as important as having the little plastic pieces at the base, twisted correctly, to get the legs to slide into theirholes all the way,.... once you've accomplished That,.. the legs seem to kinda self-adjust to the correct angle. i.e. that plastic piece is the locking key.You want it turned so it lines up with the width of the leg base (you can see/feel it, when it's lined up correctly,.. i.e. not sticking out from the base any,...)then it slides right in the hole and it becomes a simple matter to twist and lock the leg.The mouse table extension is ingenious. When the table is dismantled and the legs placed in between the foam side-strips, the mouse extension pulls off the table, you flip it, and slide it over the legs nowin the table base and it encloses the legs safely for travel. Took me a bit of finagling to figure out how to OPEN the whole thing to begin with (The directions DO SHOWthat,... you just have to figure out that those two little marks on either side of the diagram, represent a pair of cuts in the plastic on either side,... i.e. I hadn'tnoticed them..... :/The table, as others have stated, is quite sturdy for your laptop. You didn't order it, to use it as a stool, so don't try to set your toddler upon it, unless you'reprepared for a resulting disaster, it works GREAT for your laptop,.. the mouse tray locks in at about an 8 or 9 inch extension,... which is perfect.I confess, I was somewhat skeptical when I ordered it wondering if I REALLY NEEDED another small Lap-top style table,... but this one is core compact than anything elseI have so yes,... I'm glad I ordered it.

Awesome product, even better service.
This thing fits perfectly into any standard backpack. Not bulky at all, it's just a bit thicker than a laptop. It's easy and quick to set up, and as long as you set it up properly (match the leg extensions and have a solid surface, etc) it is very stable and comfortable. There is plenty of room for me to use my laptop with a mouse and mousepad, or to have a meal. In the picture that I uploaded with the short stool, the table is not at full height. At full height it is standard office desk height, 28 or 29 inches, so you could use it with any standard office or desk chair. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the materials, the plastic you would expect to be somewhat delicate is actually very hard and dense. The telescoping legs are metal and very strong, they are not going to bend or break or collapse like other metal telescoping products. When I needed the Tabletote, the deluxe model was all sole out (which is the same as the standard but includes extra attachments). But I sent an email to the company, which is a kind man with his wife (I think Mark and Julie? They invented the product and run the company). They were so quick to respond, kind, and generous. They sent me the standard Tabletote and then shipped the Deluxe attachments separately as soon as they were in stock, for no additional charge. I use the Tabletote every day as my full-time work desk, because I am in a living situation where I can not bring furniture inside and no computer desk is provided. I snuck this desk into my room in my backpack, and it is perfect.
