LEATHERMAN, FREE P2 Multitool with Magnetic Locking, One Size Hand Accessible Tools, Made in the USA

Originally I had wanted the free p4 but unfortunately at the time of writing this it’s unavailable and according to sources (various videos and articles etc.) that these two free p4 and 2 models are discontinued. Now I can’t say if that’s true but I do know the tools have been out for a while. That being said I wanted to get my hands on at least one of them and my only choice at this point was the p2 I have never had a leather man before but as my first one (and third multitool overall) this thing really impressed me! I pretty much knew about what to expect per se as my welding Instructor has the p4 and highly recommended one as lots of people in the field supposedly like to carry them and i can definitely see why. It’s loaded with many tools you may need with you such as a bottle opener, a ruler, a file and a lot more. It has a very nice magnetic snap and click to it and when unfolding the tool fully it snaps into place. All the tools lock into place when fully extended too and can be unlocked when you push on the trigger to free them and collapse them again. It’s a bit pricey but for me it’s definitely worth it. I want to say it’s just a tad bit smaller than the p4 length wise but the only real difference is it excludes two tools found on the p4 (one being a saw and I can’t remember the other off the top of my head). The main blade on this one also has a half straight and half serrated edge. It feels very durable and of a high quality so I’m confident it can take a few beatings especially out in the field working. Very compact and versatile, for me I don’t really use the included belt case as I like to have mine in my pocket and with the pocket clip I can do that now. Overall this is a very good product and if you’re thinking about picking it up please do! May not be the best of the best but for me it’s certainly number 1, you won’t be disappointed! Opens easy, locks well, has enough tools for me. definitely built for lighter edc use and not something that’s meant to be used every day in an industrial setting, the magnets would attract some metal shavings for sure. all the tools in the handles open without needing to open the pliers. no issues with the magnets yet. pretty compact imo, If you want more than this tool has i’d suggest a wave plus.

Leathman quality can’t be beat. This is the model I prefer because of the number and type of tools and the fact that they are accessible without opening the pliers. The price is more than what 1 would want, but it’s worth it… Just barely.

It's a great tool and I got one before it's gone forever. 19 tools instead of the 21 my P4 which I prefer. I wish they kept the saw and serrated blade in the P2 but that's a small gripe.

I haven’t stopped carrying this thing since I bought it. Super easy to open all the tools and pliers. Closing the pliers is not so easy with one hand but possible. Superb quality and feel, as you’d expect with USA made product. The price could be a little cheaper if they do not include the sheath in the future but mine came with one. I wish I could justify buying the ARC but this will do. It would be 5 stars if it had the removable bit tool, luckily I the skeletool works great as well.

The Leatherman Free P2 is my first multi tool and I purchased it during the Deals sale. I purchased this because I am only a home user and think that I the P2 will be easy to use. I also wanted tools accessible from the outside, and I like the magnetic system. My item was not stiff on arrival. I think this multi tool is something a woman with small hands can easily use. This multi tool is marked "USA" which I know there are standards before a tool can be marked as a US made product. It also came with a sheath. I know the Leatherman Free P2 is discontinued so I'm glad that I was able to buy one before it goes out of stock.

Love it, it’s so satisfying to hold, open and close that I find myself fiddling with it on phone calls, and while driving despite having no immediate need for it. In terms of handiness it’s exactly what you’d expect, good for EDC like opening letters, packages, cutting the odd Knick knack here and there. If I was to lose or give it away I would definitely purchase another Leatherman with the magnetic fasteners, whether it’s this model or another one.

Very nice tool. I have owned multiple Leathermans in the past (mostly gifts), but I never really used them. This one is obviously a refined version of earlier models. Very well thought out, great fit and finish and a pleasure to use. Feels like a lot of thought went into how these tools are manipulated in hand and the result is a fine tool. I think it's considered a full size model, but definitely not too big for every day carry. Nylon sheath is good, but I went all out and ordered a leather one from American Bench Craft, specifically sized to this Leatherman - super nice product too.

Leatherman Free P2は安くはありません。定価で購入したのに、全く違うポーチが届きました（写真と上の比較をご覧ください）。ツールは中古品のように見えます（写真＝ツールヘッド）。ぼったくりのような気がして苦情を申し立てましたが、販売者は私のレビューを完全に無視したので、ご注意ください。ツールはちゃんと機能し、刃は鋭く、私にとっては良いツールの選択肢です。片手で開けられるのはちょっと…ツールが固くて、磁石が強いので、あまりおすすめできません。この高価な商品をもう一度買うかどうかは分かりません。同じ金額で他の商品もいくつか買えるからです。

P4から買い替え、ノコギリを除くのは残念だったが薄さ重さは許容範囲になった。ペンチ開く時最後のカチャでハンドル内ツールが飛び出る。
