Cheaply made, but unique SSD enclosure.
This is a rather cheaply made and dubious-looking enclosure. Still, it is the only enclosure that could accommodate the Samsung 990 Pro SSD with factory heatsync I pulled from an old Mac Pro (the trash-can type). It worked well enough, after the rather tricky installation (a screw would have been much better.) Too bad the speed is only 10 Gbps. An unexpected plus is that the transparent box lets one see the LED installed on the SSD. The photos show the 990 Pro SSD and the LEDs in the enclosure.

Works and fits larger NVME SSD with attached heatsinks - more CLEARANCE!
This enclosure was just what I was looking for. I needed one with more CLEARANCE to fit an SSD with a factory-attached heatsink. Most other enclosures are too thin and do not allow for the additional thickness of a factory-attached (unremovable) heatsink - even many enclosures that come with their own heatsinks and thermal pads (which this one has). This one worked beautifully. It's not fancy as it's just a plastic case with no fans or vents or removable cords (this has a fixed C cable), but it more than makes up for it by being usable for me. For those of you looking for simple installation, this one features tool-less installation. When installing, be careful to slip the SSD's notch into the middle slot of the "holding unit" (not clear in the instructions). Keep in mind that you will have to format the drive if it has not been formatted before to get your computer to be recognized. For Windows, this can be done through "Disk Management" (you can type this into the Search Bar). There are YouTube videos to walk you through this.

It does works!
Received today and it works! Plug and play on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Yes, plastic and wish it were metal, short attached cord and wish it was a slot without a cord, the plastic lock attachment does not work easily at the end of the m.2, the other end works very well with the m.2 fitting in nicely...but again, it works. The speed is as stated and excellent...and when all said and done it works well...being better than its overall appearance. And the reason for my purchase was I have a Crucial T500 with a built-on heatsink and it fits and the top closes completely without issue. For whatever reason it is difficult to find enclosers that work with built-on heatsinks...and I wanted one with a full encloser and not open, as I like to store the m.2 in the encloser. The reason for this review is to help others with m.2's that have built-on heatsinks. As stated I just received so I cannot comment on longterm usage.

Worked without any issues.
Works with all size M2’s, transfer speed is limited by computer port or quality if M2 card, no issue with rated speeds with quality parts. Using a heat sink is recommended as stated in descriptions.

worked perfectly to recover my crashed NVMe
I had a Windows installation crash on me. I removed the crashed drive and installed Windows on a new drive, then installed the crashed one in a spare slot. Windows would not recognize the crashed drive. I pulled it out, purchased this enclosure, then easily and quickly installed the crashed drive. I attached the unit to a Linux system and was able to recover my files off the crashed unit. (Make sure you have your bitlocker key saved if you use that protection!)

Deceptively poor construction and manual
When this first came in the mail I thought it was a joke. A classic case of "Well, it looked nicer in the advertisement". The case is constructed out of the cheapest plastic possible. It reminds me of a $1 pill box you might find at a discount/dollar store. I might actually use it to store the aspirin I will need to take after trying to figure out how to make the fool thing work. The heat sink is held in place with rubber bands, of all things. (They do give you a spare band when you inevitably break one of them trying to get it strapped on to the board). The clip that is supposed to hold the far end of the drive in place so that the business end (i.e. the pins) can fit snugly into the socket is flimsy and doesn't hold in place, so the device can't keep a good connection with the drive inside of it, causing all manner of errors when you do finally plug it in to your computer. Also, this clip is the only thing keeping the card flush against the interior service of the holder, instead of i.e. a screw like what you'd see used on an actual motherboard, which wouldn't be a problem if it held. Problem is it never does -- it continually comes loose, and the card pops up and loses connection with the device. On a couple of occasions the case wasn't quite closed all the way and it popped open while I was plugging it in and the card and clip came out and ended clattering to the floor. The more I think about it, I'm hoping I didn't damage the card in the process of trying to install it into the device. I've heard of people being ripped off by cheap electronics on Amazon, et al before, but it never happened to me until now. I guess if that's the worse that's happened to me then I feel lucky. Avoid this product. (And if you do want a pillbox, Dollar General is a better deal.)

big, but cable can't be replaced
fits the odd SSD I had with attached heat sink. I wish the cable was removeable/replaceable.

Good enclosure for oversize NVMe Cards
I bought this enclosure in order to accomodate an 8TB Western Digital Black SSD with heat sink. The heat sink was too big to use with my MacMini Dock/HDMI hub (also a good value) so I needed an enclosure into which the much thicker NVMe M2. card could fit. This item fit the bill perfectly and is very fast with USB-C port on the MacMini (and the dock). Transfers between the MacMini and enclosure/card are extremely fast (compared with the NAS drives I use for backup). This item provides good value if you have an oversize NVMe card (and want to avoid having to return it for one without a heat sink). The enclosure also appears to have solid heat dissipation. Only drawback is that it does not accommodate 2.5 inch drives.

Worked great with my WD Black 1TB ssd with built-in heatsink. The only design flaw I see is that it doesn't have any way to release the heat from the case. Would've been great if there were like holes on the cover to dissipate the heat so you don't have to keep the case open all the time.

Maybe because of USB C only cable that when use with USB A converter it doesn't recognize by Window
