DII Basic Terry Collection Quilted 100% Cotton, Potholder, Sage, 3 Piece

After reading some mixed reviews on these I decided to order them anyway. I was tired of the new neoprene kind which are the only ones I can find in stores nearby these days. The $10 pair of those I've tried, melted after just a few uses so I figured around $8 for 3 of these was a great price and also wouldn't be a huge loss if I ended up disappointed. These turned out to be exactly what I was looking for though. Nice standard potholders like the ones I'm used to and they've been doing the job just fine so far. There are a few things I remember from some of the other reviews which I'd like to address. Someone mentioned there was a horrible plastic smell. I didn't find that to be the case. Yes they did smell a little bit like plastic when I first unwrapped them but that's what they were packaged in, so that's not surprising. The tags said to wash them before first use so I did. No more plastic smell whatsoever after that. As for them shrinking, they have very clear washing instructions on the tags which say to wash them in cold. I did that and they didn't shrink or warp at all. Maybe particularly bad stains won't go that way, I don't know, I haven't gotten them that dirty yet but I would try adding a non-bleach stain remover to the cold cycle first, instead of going against the washing instructions on the tags and then blaming the product and the 100% cotton front for doing what cotton usually does in hot water.

I've both loved and hated DII products. The quality is inconsistent. But these I love. There are no heat gaps, they're washable, and sturdy yet flexible. They're also a lovely color, if that matters. OK, it doesn't really matter to me, but still. I've been burned by potholder purchases in the past, but not with these. My fingers are cool.

One of the Analon pans had a small dent in it. Not bad enough to spend my time fighting for a replacement, but enough to be disappointed. Anodizing finish works great and seems to be very durable. The handles work well are comfortable and the long handles stay cool enough to handle without mitts. The Copper Stainless Aluminum base sandwich is perfect and looks nice with the copper showing.

At the price point for these potholders I wasn't expecting much. Just using them for my camping kit. I ended up taking the ones from my kitchen and putting those into my camp stuff. And taking these and puttigng them in the kitchen.

I have purchased several of these particular hot pads- all have been great. Simple but heat resistant and washable. Not too stiff. There are several other brands that look the same and are cheaper - go for these instead - I tried one of the others and they were obviously garbage, actually falling apart out of the package.

These are a great value. They are thick enough to protect your hands, but they are still flexible enough to wrap around a pan handle or over a casserole dish. I was pleasantly surprised in this product.

Excellent quality and price.

I couldn't believe how many colours are available. I chose the perfect colour to go with my kitchen and I couldn't be more pleased. I don't like using oven mitts. I prefer these instead. It's odd that they give you three, but I guess two can be for your hands and one to use under a hot item removed from the oven. I would definitely repurchase, probably to buy as gifts.

Great pads hard to find but just don't dry them in the dryer because they will shrink alot.

The fabric and size were just what I wanted.
