Stens 290-691 Engine Control Cable

This is an excellent control cable replacement for my Craftsman Pushmower. The only problem that I had was that it was approximately 1 inch too short for the lawn mower. Thankfully my mower had an option in which you could move the control cable slot down, so in the long run it worked out. I would buy again because it looked and felt like the original.

It was a little too long for my mower but my son-in-law was able to tie a knot in the cable and that made it the perfect length. It was cheaper than any others I looked out. Now I have to find another way to break the mower so I don't have to mow.

I had to replace my faulty control cable on my lawn mower, I searched online and found this seller sells quility parts at a fraction of the price (vs. Sears) I was completely satisfied with the replacement part and my lawn mower stared up like a champ.On another note when I got my package I got a $5 off coupon for my next order which I used the same day to tune up my Mower, I got 2 spark plugs air filter and oil, again cheaper than Sears tune up kit That only comes with 1 spark plug.

works great but had to drill a new hole in the handle bars to get the right adjustment but it was no problem doing so

Same as the old one it replaced.It was a little long, but so was the old one, so just had to finesse the slack around the handle with zip ties.$10 for this cable brought my old briggs and stratton lawnmower back from the dead!

To the point - it is a product for a specific use and it was the right one for the job. The best part - tried to get it from the dealer and they were out of stock (as always of late). Looked here and found it for an even better price. Shipping was quick. A good experience. It should also be noted that this is a very simple, two minute installation.

Check style and application length and be sure it matches what you have. I have a weird Machine that takes anyone of 4 different cables.

It works but installation would have been easier if instructions had come with it - perhaps a diagram of the installed product.
