Seems to work perfectly and fills my family room nicely.
The RX101 is the definition of plug-n-play. Within a minute of connecting it to my Marantz NR1403, I was paired with my iPhone and streaming music. I didn't experience noise or interference that other reviewers mentioned. Audio was crisp and clean. It bears mentioning that the audio level of your blue-tooth device impacts the volume you need to set the receiver to. I maxed out audio on my iPad and kept the volume a bit lower on the receiver. Seems to work perfectly and fills my family room nicely.

Okay so was working great the first month and then suddenly the IR remote is having issues! Bluetooth still working fine but when I turn on the device and then after about 15 to 30 minutes the remote stops working. When I look at the device the red light continues to flicker. I am assuming the device is defective but I am past my return date :( So I called Marantz and there tech support seriously is like talking to a second grader. They don't listen to what you are saying and they keep making me repeat myself. I think they are looking at a computer screen for trouble shooting answers. Horrible service. Issues still has not been corrected!

RX 101 Bluetooth add on is great!
Great addition to my Marantz receiver. Easy to set up and works like it should. Audio streaming is clear and blasts through my speakers. A good purchase add on.

Poor Audio Quality
I bought this Marantz RX101 Bluetooth receiver to stream music from my smartphone and computer wirelessly to a Marantz AV7005. The pairing process was simple and effortless. I have not experienced any connection dropouts. Wireless range is as advertised. However, the audio quality is unacceptable to me. I believe the bandwidth afforded by Bluetooth transmission compresses the audio to a significant extent. Streaming audio from this receiver sounds mushy, with damped highs and muted lows. Music sounds hollow with a dramatic drop-off in dynamic range. There is also occasionally a strange reverberation phenomenon with a faint echo. If you have an iDevice with AirPlay compatibility, I suggest you use that instead of this Bluetooth receiver to transmit your music. With a larger bandwidth through WiFi, I find the music quality near that of a hardwired connection. I am hoping that the RX101 unit I bought was just a lemon. As it presently stands, I cannot recommend this product to discerning audiophiles.

Works as advertised.
I bought this mainly to use as an additional IR receiver and for that it works perfectly. My Marantz SR6006 is on a lower shelf of my TV stand, where it's hard to get a direct view for the remote control. When I connected the RX101 and placed it on a higher shelf, that made all the difference. No more sluggish remote response. After I figured out how to pair it (see below), Bluetooth also works fine, but since the SR6006 supports AirPlay now, you don't really need Bluetooth with an iDevice. Only three stars for the following reasons: - Too expensive. $100 for this? - Shipped with incomplete documentation. To figure out how to pair it with my iPhone, I had to go online and search for another instruction sheet. - Flimsy connection. The cable that connects to the RX101 had a very loose fit and would come out whenever I moved the box a little bit (when dusting, for example). For now, I think I've solved the problem by wrapping the connector with some Teflon tape. So, it does what it's supposed to do, but it could be better - and cheaper!

Careful on the insertion of each end since the pins can bend.
I almost gave it a 1 since the end of the wires is S-video type and when trying to plug it into the receiver, the pins kept bending. It could have been a big fail, but I managed to straightened the pins and insert it correctly. It detected and connected via Bluetooth hence the 4 stars. It works well and does the job. I just don't understand why any customer pay $1500 for a Marantz receiver and it is still not equipped with Bluetooth capabilities.

Excellent Bluetooth adapter, worth the price!
Excellent Bluetooth adapter! Very clear audio quality, simple hookup, and even extends the use of the remote control if your AVR is in a cabinet, and this is placed in a visible location. This mode can be disabled if not needed. Pairing was simple, and pairing with multiple devices works also. Range is similar to Bluetooth headsets, etc. It is a bit expensive perhaps, but I have purchased less expensive generic adapters, some of which are powered by USB. The less expensive ones introduced hum from the adapter, and had auto power off when not used for awhile, requiring you to walk over and turn it back on. This one has no such issues, as it is powered directly from the AVR and is always ready.

RX101-Marantz
One word to describe the RX101-- AWESOME! Works great with my SR5005 and iPad. I highly suggest this piece to bring wireless music to your home theatre. Works well with iTunes, movie audio and Pandora through the iPad. If you have a iPad and Marantz compatible AVR you need this accessory.

Very dissapointed. It worked for a few minutes but the connection between the Mini Din 9 pin cable and the receiver is loose and as a result the Bluetooth connection keeps interrupting.
