The first-ever user-friendly guide to Bert Hellingerโs Family Constellationsโa powerful group therapy method for interrupting intergenerational trauma, healing painful family patterns, and reclaiming your own empowered narrative Includes insights on somatic wisdom, the seven stages of a constellation session, and bringing relational dynamics into awareness for healing and growth In Family Constellations, Joy Mannรฉ introduces the groundbreaking work of Bert Hellinger, whose therapeutic method reveals how unresolved family trauma can shape our lives and influence our experiencesโsometimes for generations. Drawing on Hellingerโs deep expertise across cultural and therapeutic traditions, this book guides you through the wisdom of family systems. It explores how unconscious loyalties, forgotten ancestors, and unmetabolized traumas can keep us from embodyingโand expressingโour true, authentic selves and gifts. Here, Mannรฉ helps us understand approaches to care and repair so we can bring these patterns to lightโand unlock new pathways to love, freedom, safety, and healing. Inside, youโll learn about: The โorders of loveโ that govern family systemsโand what happens when theyโre disrupted How family patterns of giving and taking, belonging and neglect, and loyalty shape our lives and embodied experiences The seven stages of a constellation session , from naming to integration The role of the ancestors and the ongoing influence of the dead on the living Practical exercises and truth statements to translate the insights and wisdom of constellation sessions into your everyday life With clarity and compassion, Mannรฉ explains the theory and practice of constellationsโhow theyโre set up, how healing happens, and how resolution can bring peace to an entire family field. She also shows how you can carry these insights into your daily life, relationships, and even work settings. Accessible, deep, and profoundly moving, this book offers a new framework for understanding yourselfโand your familiesโin a new, empowering, and healing light. inspiring and revealing, really gives you an insight into this therapy
I have attended two constellations and had a lot of questions that this book in a didactical, fluent, full of real cases has resolved. After reading this book I do have a better understanding of how and whom this Therapy can help, but also what I should work out further, in and outside this Therapy, to heal my own family constellation and thus our destiny.

an interesting slant
I didn't agree with a lot of the premises. For instance if a member of the family cut themselves off from the others,I don't think it's always necessary to fill in the gap--just let them go.They have free will.I know it does help some people but you really have to get someone to do it with you--no self help here.

Clarity & Simplicity
Bert Hellinger's life work is beautifully summarized in this book. I loved the clarity and simplicity it gives to a profound discipline of Family Constellation. Someone must translate it in Hindi so it reaches to more people across the country.

The family field
Before commenting on the text, there should perhaps be a health warning here. From experience, the technique described in this book can draw out powerful feelings. Hence, it is best not done with proper supervision, and access to therapy. I bought this book to get an introduction to Family Constellation theory, with the possibility of using the technique in my psychotherapeutic practice, in which I can also call upon supervision in. With that in mind, this is an excellent introduction to the basic theory and technique of Family Constellations devised by Bert Hellinger which can be practiced in both a group situation, on in one to one therapy. The one proviso is that it does require space. How this is done is described in the text, and in it participants can do a psychodrama acting the roles of various members of a persons family, or group of work participants. The theory behind it is also described succinctly, though I can imagine some people of a particular scientific bent of mind objecting, but which works from a psychological viewpoint. All this in not too many pages. All in all highly recommended for a clear introduction to the technique, that could not be bettered. .
