Ariat Rambler Western Boot – Men’s Leather, Square Toe, Western Boots

Alright, so, I haven't had a pair of boots since I was like, OK, well, let's just say it was pretty much 30 years ago. Remember when America loved country in the mid-nineties? Y'know, before Shania and Carrie, and Reba was the hottest woman in Country Music? Yeah, that era. So, it's been a minute. Why did I come back to this? Hell if I know, honestly, but, here I am, lifting weights, wearing camo and talking to God - just seemed like this was where things were headed and I embraced it. So I got the boots. Which, again, I have no real frame of reference, so, if you've had boots in the last 30 years, we probably have different expectations. Was I prepared for how soft the leather was? Nope, but, it's damn nice. Flares out my boot cut jeans a bit more than I was imagining, but I assume that'll change as we age together. Putting 'em on . . Again, I'm used to sneakers that I keep loose-laced and can slip on. Taking whole minutes to literally shove my foot in was not what I was expecting, but, understandable. Once I got into 'em, I understood why it was suggested to go half size down and one step wider. They're a little tighter than I'm used to across the top, but I think that'll loosen up with some more time in 'em, too. The half step down in size and going wider was clutch - they fit very well. The insole is also pretty comfy, looks like a memory foam kinda deal. Color is pretty accurate from the pictures, I've attached my own real-world example. They're definitely a square toe, which, I personally believe is more appropriate for men, and bottom line, they look right under jeans, where they should be. Your toes obviously aren't gonna fit all the way to the end, but I don't feel like I'm wearing clown shoes, either. Outsole felt pretty tacky at first blush, which was unexpected, but a welcome detail. I'm not worried about slipping in these, despite having a boot heel I'm not used to. Doing a few laps in the driveway, looking like I'm learning to walk, again, help mold 'em to my feet. So, in conclusion, I'm finna pop the tags and give these a fresh coat to make 'em mine - I'm keeping 'em and looking forward to many years in these boots. TLDR: color is pretty accurate, go half size down and one step wider, and you should be fine. Everything else is preference.

I can only give four stars because these boots are really hard to pull on. I’m hoping it’ll be easier as I pull them off and on. Otherwise they are easy to wear and comfortable already after only a couple of wears. True to size and they are thin and light…. Edit- I’ve updated the boots to 5 stars. After breaking them in over the past couple of weeks, these boots are easier to put on even with thicker socks. I love these boots!

Love these boots. Simple design, great comfort and durability. The type of sole are perfect for my work and daily use. It became my favorite pair of boots only after a week. Now over two months using them I can tell they will last a long time.

I usually get Ariats and they are very high quality and whatnot but this is my first time buying them from Amazon. I get 10.5 usually(and those are a little loose so I have to soak them and dry them to make them a little smaller) but when I got them them from here they were way too small. I was very confused and thought I was going crazy. I sent them back and got 11's and they were way too big as usual. The 10.5's I got were marked wrong and were more like 9's.

My favorite boots so far!!!!! I got me some Antiqued Grey's, size 8-wide, true to size, comfortable,light weight, great for casual and work.

Edit... must have broken in....squeak is gone....thank goodness I can walk without that noise. Also makes sneaking up to prank someone easier... Got these the 4th of November. Started wearing them the next day. Wore them 3 times for full days 6, 7, 8 of November....since then it feels likes its breaking in but still early to tell. Ordered 11wide and fit great (normal size) tried 10.5 like reviews said and well one boot fit....other didnt...lol There is a little bit of heel slippage...but no more than a 1/4 inch on either foot. Once I've been on them a little through the day it gets better. One thing I can say already though....the right boot has developed a squeak. Was not there the the first 3 times. I slip them on and it feels as if they have loosen a bit (or maybe begun to mold around my foot) good news....and then the bad. A dang squeak that is stupidly annoying. I believe its coming from the outsole...I know its not the heel...as it only occurs as I'm moving forward and about to pick my boot up. I tried dryer sheets inside (trying to eliminate areas) ...going to try some powder when I get it and even condition the leather to try that. I took a 180 grit sand paper to rough up the outsole but cant tell if it's better or not. Wearing wrangler bootsocks... Maybe its the outsole breaking in...I dont know....only know its annoying. I mainly hear it on solid surfaces. So I'm leaning toward that...except I think I hear it sometimes on an area where the carpet is a little more worn down/compacted in my house. Maybe I do...maybe I dont....I think its already driven me crazy. Ill try other remedies I mentioned and give it more time. Ill update to clarify if anything succeeds. Im crossing fingers that it isnt stitching or nails coming loose already....so here's hoping its normal.
