Disappointing, mostly a book of generic stock photos or hotel advertisements
I was hoping this book would have either photos or information about tucked-away places around the world to find peace and quiet. Instead it is mostly generic stock photography, and most of the photos do not inspire a sense of "peace and quiet", but rather they are fairly meaningless and generic images (hands holding berries, a photo of a palm tree on a beach, people doing yoga with goats, or advertisement-style shots of hotels). The informational blurbs for each locale in the book are extremely short (2-3 sentences) and don't actually say much at all about the location, and the vast majority of the locations do not have any photos. Much of the book's content is disappointingly obvious (the section on North America is largely just a listing of national parks or hotels). So much of this book can be found for free by just doing some quick googling or looking up photos on stock websites. In fact the back of the book, which lists the photography credits, is literally multiple pages of references to Getty Images and iStock photos. Disappointing.

A large heavy book of nothing!
This book had such great possibilities! BUT there is really no content. They squeezed a 1,000 ideas with a short paragraph of about 75 to 100 words with no detail. It just makes you briefly think about the Bucket List idea. I tried to read about 20 pages ... I kept wanting more ... then I went ahead and tried each chapter to find nothing of value. Very small print with no meaningful content. Pictures were nice but there are better image coffee style books out there. I am an avid traveler and photographer. I have a large Bucket List journal that I keep that I wanted to add to. You won't get it here.

Inaccurate
I don’t think the author has been to any of these places. She says Gorman Falls is a “treasure” of Big Bend National Park, but Gorman Falls is over 6 hours away from Big Bend. Based on the cities I’ve already visited, a few of the highlighted locations feel like strange picks to me.

Next 10 years of holidays sorted
Beautiful photos and interesting captions. Despite having travelled a fair bit in the past, there are still lots of places I haven’t heard of and am now desperate to visit! A lovely book to dip into and escape!
