The sound quality of the radio is comparable to the Sangean, maybe a little bit clearer. Because of the compact size, it is more convenient to carry around.

Can you dial to even decimal FM Stations or just odd ones? (such as 96.8 vs 96.7)

If you are looking for a serious AM/FM or AM/FM with weather you should check out ccrane.com, I have a C Craneradio model "CCRadio-EP" it pulls in AM stations up to 20 miles and FM stations 50-100 miles.
