Works as it should. Small double boiler. I got it to make candy in.

Worked great, I used it to denature the protien in my milk before making homemade yogurt, it has to cook at 180° for 20 minutes w/o scorching. And this pan delivered. Can't beat the price for the value. Very happy with my purchase

For the price and use, this is a great double boiler! It has that gorgeous shine of stainless, and the pans fit together well, as does the lid. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 is it would be nice if there was aluminum cladding on the bottom. But what I use it for (melting chocolate, etc.) it's not really necessary. The key to keeping your stainless in good condition and not getting discoloration is: 1) never start out your pan on high, start the pan at low and gradually turn it up to medium, and 2) season the pan that will hold the food. Run some low fire point oil all inside it, including up the sides and the entire bottom. Turn the pan empty on a low stove, then gradually increase it to medium til it's smoking (seriously...smoking alot, take the battery out of the smoke detector first!). Let it cool, then wipe it down well inside and out with a soft cloth or paper towels. Voila it's nonstick. Don't put in the dishwasher or submerge in dishwater either. A little warm and soapy water inside will clean it out nicely. If you do get discoloration - get some Bartender' Friend (2 Pack) Bar Keepers Friend Soft Cleanser for Stainless Steel / Porcelain / Ceramic / Tile / Copper - 13 Oz. Each

This is exactly as advertised. It is very lightweight. But given what I have planned to use it for it should be more than adequate.
