Will this shackle accept two 3/8" chain link ends totalling 3/4" in width?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can fit up to two 1/2 pewag security chain ends in this lock (60mm - 160 model), it works with my 12mm (1/2) pewag, peerless 11mm (7/16), and leclede 10mm (3/8) chains.  The pewag 1/2 inch chain fits the gaps the best in order to prevent bolt cutters from grasping the shackle but all will fit well and have enough fill to prevent an easy attack on the shackle.  Check out Wayne Winton's and BosnianBill's youtube videos on this lock and 1/2 pewag chain.  I would not use this on just one chain link in a high security environment as it leaves too much of the shackle exposed.  You'd want a Granit 37/80 with shackle guard for something like that (slip chain) to prevent exposing the shackle to cutting.  If you are going to use this for securing two links then that's not an issue.

I figured I'd answer this since there are several incorrect comments here.  I actually own the locks and all the chains I'm describing.

Question 2

Is this a good choice? I plan to rent a unit fr. Public Storage, required disc padlock 70mm, they're selling one w/ a price of $22. I dont like it.

For that application buy a Abus brand disc padlock (one of the ones made in Germany).  They are excellent quality and should fit the unit at about the same price that Public Storage is selling theirs for.  The Public Storage ones are easy to pick as our the ones made by Master, Brinks, etc.

Question 3

will this lock fit a standard moving truck from like Uhaul, Penske, or Budget?

I used this on a standard box truck and it literally locked too tight to get the key in. I had to bend the head of the key to fit it in the lock with what little space I had.

Will this lock work on a u-haul 6 x 12 cargo trailer latch??

I used it on a U-Haul trailer about that size. So probably yes.
