short life & poor fit
Save your money, this doesn't perfectly fit. I've bought it about three times, and it doesn't last, and drops off the column all the time. Only the two separate Mazda parts: base and knob, made in Japan, fit exactly. Those fastened with tactile snaps, and a solid fit. Save your daily frustration on this - by visiting a dealer parts counter, and ordering them, instead of trying any of these.

The original knob was broken and kept falling off. First one from Amazon said it would fit cx9 2015 but it didn't- it was too small. Mazda didn't have it and I was desperate and started looking again on Amazon, this time looking at the pictures in much detail. I found one with the prongs that looked like mine. Ordered and had it delivered to our vacation location and it fit. So happy to have a knob that doesn't constantly fall off. Double and triple check measurements and pictures. This one works.

Not quite the same as the original OEM part on my CX-9 but close enough and it works
My 2013 Mazda CX-9 OEM part broke, so I needed to replace it. This item isn't quite the same as the stock one. It seems like it sticks up a little higher and there's a bit of a gap under it. However, it fits the ignition solidly and the actual switch is firmly connected, so even though it doesn't look quite right it still works just fine. As long as you don't mind it not quite looking like the stock part, then this is a pretty good item and it's cheaper than getting the OEM part from the dealer.

Doesn't Work
Doesn't fit my 2011 Mazda CX9.Also it seems to be missing some sort of screws? The two pieces won't stay together.I tried to add screws myself so now I can't return it.

Thin plastic breaks easily over time.
I have purchased this product 4 times now for my 2015 Mazda CX-9. The product works fine, at first. Then, over time, with repeated and normal operational use of the ignition knob, the thin plastic bits that insert into the ignition/key slot start to bend and then break, which renders the product useless. I am giving this product 3 stars because it is not the fault of the supplier or manufacturer of this product that it breaks. It is the fault of Mazda for designing an ignition knob system that is faulty. What would be helpful, is if someone made a version of this ignition knob with metal for the base. In other words, the thin plastic bits were made of thin metal instead of plastic. This would really help with longevity of the product. At this point, I am resigned to having to buy an $11 plastic knob every 4 months in perpetuity.
