Basically everything you need to know
A lot of pictures and diagrams with exact measurements and how to’s that if you want to build a house, you can basically use this how to guide to see it to completion. Almost entirely a all in one book. Good location of definitions within to explain terms you might not be familiar with. All in all excellent and easy to understand.

Lots of info, didn’t have exactly what I needed but it is still a great reference book. Must have to anyone who likes to build.

Children's Book
What a disappointment. As a full-time home builder I didn't expect to LEARN much from this book, but thought it might be interesting to see how other PROFESSIONALS frame houses. Nope. This MIGHT be useful for someone who has absolutely ZERO knowledge of dimensional lumber, needs to learn how to read a tape measure and ways to avoid knocking off a toenail, or has no idea what a chalk line is for. And whoever drew the three-quarter views of a speed square should be embarrassed, as should the author and publisher for including them. The drawings can NOT help you understand how to properly use a speed square, they're USELESS and HORRIBLE! I do not usually write reviews. 99.9% of the time, items I buy on Amazon are either perfect or near-perfect, and I don't usually take time to write a positive review. This time, however, I just need to warn you not to waste your money on this book. Plus, I'm just angry that I let it lay around too long to return it. I won't comment specifically on the reviews favoring this book, but I do question them. Honestly, I can't think of a good use for this book other than to hold papers down on your desk on a windy day when the windows are open. It's too full of unnecessary and HARMFUL information for a rookie, too rudimentary for an experienced DIYer, and a complete JOKE for a professional contractor. Two thumbs DOWN!!
