Connecting Threads Beginner Lap Throw Quilt Kit (40.5" x 56.5") - Half-Square Triangle Fun (Chambray Tonal)

I make quilts for charity raffles and the lap size//child size are very popular. I couldn't believe the low price although I heard from other quilter's that Connecting Threads make a quality product at a great price. The pattern is easy, the instructions and illustrations are very clear, the fabric is good quality and it's a lovely color palette. Another review commented the fabric was thin and I did not find this to be true. The pattern includes several lay outs for the pieces so you have choices. The cutting instructions are particularly good for beginners. What's not to love? Easily earns 5 stars.

My first time at piecing a quilt. Directions are clear for piecing and placement. For the actual quilting go to youtube for more instructions. I used low loft batting and two yards of 44 inch wide fabric for backing. This kept the bulk to a minimum for quilting. The fabric is nice quality and the colors are beautiful. I found that I did not like the cutting of the fat quarters. I am will be making the quilt again, so I purchased 5 inch charms and a jelly roll directly from Connecting Threads.

I could not be more delighted with this kit! The selection of printed fabrics are charming! The instructions to make are clear cut and easy to understand. There are also options to make this quilt in 3 different manners in addition to the one that’s shown, that right there is a true deal! This is a fabulous quilt kit and it’s a terrific value! I’ll amend this review with a photograph of the quilt top once I make it. ❤️

Overall loved the pattern and so did everyone else I showed it to. This was my first quilt ever and by hand. I did not feel like it was for beginners and what you get is what you get. Not a lot of room to make any errors and colors were a challenge to match to what was shown in the instructions. Would do this again, but as an intermediate quilter.

Now I have a million 2in squares I'm new and didn't understand the cutting part I thought it would already be precut like the last one I ordered. Anyways the colors are beautiful and ill definitely try to make this with them squares or I'll just use the fabric for another project any way win win

have been ordering for a few years now. have never been disapointed. the fabric is as fine as any I get anywhere. the price is on line -or less- than elsewhere. my favorite store

I will admit I haven't begun the quilt yet but as I quilter I recognize the quality of this kit. The fabric is beautiful and vibrant with a nice feel to it. The pattern instructions are easy to read. I can't wait to start it this weekend. I anticipate that it will be a weekend project and it seems suitable for a novice quilter.

I like the colors. I bought 2 kits so I can make a larger quilt. It will make a wonderful coverlet for the summer. Great fabric and the price is definitely right.

I wanted to like this pattern, but I just can't. There have been so many errors in the pattern, super tiny thumbnails to use to assemble, and some colors are nearly impossible to tell apart from the tiny picture! Row 7 and 8 are supposed to be the same, just reversed. The patterns shows several squares in different colors from each other. I've ended up being short on some color combos, and have access of others because of this. I followed all the assembly instructions for joining the squares and cutting them into triangles with each color palette. I ended up with color combos not shown on the assembly diagram, so I've had to wing it. Thankfully it's a somewhat random quilt pattern so it's hard to tell. But holy. Dissapointing from such a pricey kit. I've been so so meticulous to make sure it's nice, and I'm halfway done and I basically just have to wing it 🫤 You can see from my photo that 2 assembly lines are smaller than my quilting clip! And some of the colors are soooo similar. The kit comes with 2 different dark blues- one has a darker blue speckle pattern to it, and the other has a SLIGHTLY greyer speckle pattern to it 😒 so much fun trying to figure that out in a teeny picture. I also have to guess from the assembly photo that a color is actually a grey blue and not grey due to not having that color combo.... It's a mess
