87516 Glasspack Muffler

I was looking for loud but not sound like a rice burner. This is on a 4.2L V6 in a 1998 f-150. Give good low tone while not being obnoxious. You still get a little of the raspy in high rpm and some pops when slowing rpm’s but sounds good. I used sleeve clamps and a custom built hanger to fasten it and it worked great! If this is what you’re looking for it’s worth the money. Easy to install, good sound, and good look.

True to description length and pipe inside diameters. The flanges are thick and good steel, so you can weld pipe to it or clamp, or both. It's LOUD, but it's also a great sounding sort of lower frequency noise and doesn't get an irritating pitch at speed. Great value. I installed this in place of the muffler on my 99' Ram 1500 with a 5.9. It gave a noticeable increase in seat of the pants power without a lot of drone in the cab. 5/5 would buy again.

Disclaimer: if you watched YouTube videos about this glasspack and said to yourself "hmm, that's not too loud, and it sounds pretty good." You're half right, it does sound damn good, but it's louder than you think. I had a local exhaust shop weld it on for me, when I picked it up and started it, I damn near shat my britches! I was blown away at how good it made my truck sound. Here's some advice on this glasspack: 1. My county does have a noise ordinance, despite being louder than expected, I haven't received a complaint in the 2 weeks of having this so far. 2. If you install this, there will be a slight (not very loud) droning noise in the cab at highway speeds. I solved this problem by playing Lynyrd Skynyrd when I'm on the highway. 3. Due to sounding so good and turning your seat into a massage chair when you accelerate, expect worse gas mileage due to an unstoppable urge to floor it when you accelerate. Over all, for the price of this glorified peice of straight exhaust tubing, I'm extremely satisfied.

The glasspack from Cherry Bomb came quick and was pretty difficult to install but that was not due to the part. I ordered 2.5" inlet/outlet and my pipes were the same size and so I had to have a friend of mine do it but anyway the sound is great, it's got a nice rumble at the low RPMs and isn't too loud at the higher RPMs. Definitely a head turner.

This is the first Cherry Bomb Glasspack I have installed on one of my personal vehicles. I went from having the exhaust cut off behind the cat to this thing connecting from the cat to my muffler back tailpipe. Given the setup, it made my truck quieter. But it is quieter for the better. Its a very smooth clean sound now. It is temporarily installed with some local A-Zone muffler clamps and this has transformed my truck into something tolerable to drive. Well done.

The Amazon shipping box was perfect....but the cherry bomb box inside the Amazon box was beat to hell and all taped up. Muffler was bent/damaged on end. Installer was able to fix for install. Installed on a Fiat 500 Pop.....really gives it a nice low perr. Removed rear muffler/tip and installed a nice chrome tip.

I put this on my cat-less '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited (with the 4.7L), and boy does it growl! I knew this thing would be loud, but I was scared it would give it a tinny sound like a ricer, but I ordered it and i'm glad I did! This thing is definitely loud, but has a deep growl all the way through the power-band. Of course my Jeep is a V8, so I don't know how the smaller version would sound on a V6, but based on this one, I would definitely give it a shot. Overall, very worth the money!
