Brihat Parasara Hora Sastra: A Compendium in Vedic Astrology: 2 Volumes

I haven't read through either of these volumes fully but whenever I read them I gain wisdom without a doubt. Although watching YouTube videos on astrology is great, reading and learning the full science and method is great too. Of course to gain full understanding there is a lot more to read but these books are a great introduction. The books are well made and are very visually attractive too. Thank you for selling these at such a great price too.

It arrived promptly - 2 volumes and its in English but with extracts in Hindi. Its a gift so I have no opinion of the contents, but seems very good value.

Whoever interested in knowing Jyotisha must have this book. Translated very intelligently by Sharma, this clear-typed, information packed Bible of Jyotisha by the Founding Father of Jyotisha, the great Sage Maharishi Parasara needs no intruduction. Having read several translation, and comparing the original Sanskrit version, this is the best English translation to have. Anyone who want to study Vedic astrology whose correct name is Jyotisha, must have this book. Without reading this book, no one can comprehend the basic of Jyotisha.

Es ist gut, dass der Sanskrit-Text, wenn auch nicht ohne Fehler, veröffentlicht wurde. Allerdings wurde der Text nicht aus dem Sanskrit übersetzt, sondern wahrscheinlich aus einer Hindivorlage. Der englische Text stimmt, das bestätigen meine Stichproben, nicht mit dem Sanskrittext überein. Beispiel: Im ersten Vers heisst es, dass Ganesa von den "Scharen der Geister usw. bedient" wird. Die Übersetzung redet von den 5 Elementen. Das ist eindeutig falsch.

It is a must have for a person interested in vedic astrology! It is advised that you get a bit familiar with some of the sanskrit and basic vedic terminology. At times, some of the terms and principles can be misunderstood for the novice of vedic astrology if freshly picking up this book. But I do highly recommend!

Cover and paper quality is not very good, fit for studying but you would want a better paper quality for sure. Still the content of the book is unique. This is a "must have" book if you are studying vedic astrology.

This is one of the most important texts for any person who wishes to study what is commonly known as Vedic Astrology. Do bear in mind that the original book is in Sanskrit, in the form of shlokas. This is a translation as well as an explanation of the verses. It might be a little out of reach for beginners. However, it's value only increase

I received this faster than I expected. What a joy it was to see the two, hard-bound copies of this set. One in gold and one in silver. I am very much looking forward to going back to the source to expand upon my jyotisha knowledge and learning. Thank you!
