Derby Laces CORE Narrow 6mm Waxed Lace for Figure Skates, Roller Skates, Boots, and Regular Shoes

I ordered the Derby Laces CORE Narrow 6mm waxed laces for my roller skates and couldn’t be happier. The quality is immediately noticeable — the wax coating is perfect (not overly sticky, but just enough to hold tight), they lace smoothly, and once tied they stay secure without constant re-tightening. The 6mm narrow width fits perfectly through my eyelets and gives a clean, sharp look. They feel durable and well-made, not flimsy like standard replacement laces. You can tell these were designed with skaters in mind. What really stood out to me though was the personal touch. They included the nicest handwritten-style letter and a sticker — such a cool small business detail that makes you want to support them even more. Great product, great fit, and great company. I first got these to replace my stock laces that came with my Riedell Orbits, since those laces were very slippery and were already fraying alightly after just a few skating sessions. The Derby laces stay tight much better and are easier to lace up since they are lightly waxed. I love them, they are a great upgrade to your skates at a very reasonable cost. I got the 108" length, there is some excess but I wind it back down the hooks twice and then tie the bow (the next length down would have been too short). I have skated a few times since switching and no signs of wear yet. The color is also perfect (I got Hot Magenta). I wouldn't skate without these laces now! Update: It's been a few months now and the skate laces are still great. I decided to get some laces (72") for my Converse shoes as well. I have a brand new pair that I got Hot Magenta and Lime Green for and a 2 year old pair that I cleaned the scuffs off with a magic eraser and then put the new white Derby laces on. They now look almost as good as new!

Refurbished and hand painted roller skates deserve new laces. Super long new laces. Super long, brightly colored new laces. I only planned to buy one pair but the colors were so great I bought red, hot pink, and light blue. These are definitely the quality you are looking for in a roller skate lace. Sturdy, strong, long solid aglets, smooth lacing action. Art the Clown recognizes quality, so he called dibs on the red laces and I immediately complied. He looks fantastic. Thanks, Derby Laces! Strong, hold tight, and don’t loosen up like regular laces. The wax coating makes a big difference. Great for skates or boots where you need a secure fit. Good quality and worth it.

(Wife): I bought 96" Derby Core laces in two colors: hot pink and grape. They are waxed laces. The Derby Core laces are fairly strong; but if you skate in the street / on rough asphalt and fall, like other laces, your laces could get some abrasion from a fall. They still seem more durable than softer laces. My skate setup is a pair of Sure Grip Fames with outdoor wheels, The laces they came with were softer than the Derby Core laces. I'm pretty convinced that I made the right call in switching to Derby Core laces - both for likely increased durability vs. the stock laces and adding a fun splash of color! The 96" length was also a good bit longer than the stock laces, which was helpful to me. At first, I did run into some trouble keeping the laces tied - especially when practicing forward toe stop braking on asphalt and some basic tricks on asphalt (which sometimes led to falls). Personally, I found that lacing my laces with much smaller loops than in the picture - frankly, roping them around the back of my high-tops once or twice - actually seemed to help my laces come undone less often on the street. A double-knot might help, too - and using a braking method other than a toe stop skating forward, such as a plow stop or drag stop (aka a t-stop - although I find it more challenging to do on quads than on inlines). I am very glad I bought two colors, because it makes telling apart the left / right skates soooo much easier! I also love the look. Way less boring than just white, imo. ; ) Another thought: if you like to lace one part of your skate tighter than another, you could possibly get much shorter lengths and use two shorter laces per skate - at least, if your skates are high tops. I'm a noob, so still trying to figure out the best lacing style for my needs. Hoping that helps. = )

I got the 134" laces and they worked beautifully for a pair of knee high boots. They are perfectly waxed to go through with ease, and you can feel the quality. They look fantastic, and I am looking forward to picking up some extra colors.

Gorgeous laces. I love them so much. Perfect neon pink for my Lightnings. Such high quality that i made the mistake of pinching them under one of the bindings and smooshed it a little. It went back to normal with a little massaging. I plan to buy more for my skate family!

Die Stabilität der Schnürung ist wirklich besser als mit ungewachsten Schnürsenkeln. Leider haben sich meine nach kurzer Zeit fleckig verfärbt obwohl sie weder mit Rost noch mit anhaltender Feuchtigkeit in Berührung kamen.

Abit thinner than I thought but had for awhile now and still do good! Will defo buy again
