Microwavable Large Neck and Shoulder Wrap – Instant Relief for Muscle Pain, Tension and Stress, Stiffness, Arthritis, Migraines, and Headaches – Natural Therapy with Deep Heat and Herbal Aromatherapy

This has been a great comfort to my whiplashed neck. The fleece cover is soft and cuddly. The scent is just right...very soothing and not too strong. The weight helps the heat stay in contact with your skin and the shape is good to wrap around toward the front of your neck a bit. It also can be applied to the lower back easily and it's pretty comfortable to lay against. Some reviewers have said the heat only lasts about ten minutes and that's about right if you just heated it as directed and applied it and did nothing else to preserve or increase the warmth. The instructions recommend 1 1/2-2 minutes in the microwave. I'm sure it could be damaged by excessive heating as it says, not to mention the company's liability concerns if someone burns themselves. What I have done is give it 2 min. on high, then removed it and put it in with the opposite side up for another 30 sec. on high and that worked fine for me...not too hot and heated more evenly. I also tried adding one minute on medium heat after the initial 2 min. and that also did not seem to be too much and it just felt much nicer to me with that extra heat. I also wrapped a small towel around the outside of it to help keep the heat from escaping so fast and I have been able to get 20-25 min. out of it before it started to feel cool. It is a moist heat so once it cools off you definitely want to remove it. I haven't tried it in the freezer yet but it's nice to know it can be used for that also. I feel it has been money well spent and hopefully it lasts a long time.

Very warm and soothing

It doesn't work well if you try to wear it while walking about or moving - or at least while it's buttoned. It slides back and starts to choke you. However, if you're reclined or sitting, it provides a great layer of warmth across your back. I'm rather indifferent about the scent, it's nice, but I would've bought it without the scent anyways. It retains heat for a nice period and it's positioned very well to provide a great therapeutic heat to your shoulders, neck, and upper back. It hasn't magically solved or removed all my neck and shoulder pain, but it does offer periods of relief which is VERY welcomed!!!

This large heating pad is very well made and the soft material and nice scent really made me feel so relaxed when I used it. However, it's a little big for me since I am petite, 5'3 and 115 lbs so I had to sew a ribbon on to help keep it in place. I received a 75% off coupon in the package for a Multipurpose Gel Ice Pack. They were having technical issues when I tried to redeem the coupon. After contacting the seller, they honored their promise and sent me the Gel Ice Pack, free of charge. Their customer service is great, with very fast responses and take their commitment to the customer.

I purchased a neck wrap of another brand first, but it was not long enough to reach my “mother knot” which is located to the right of my left shoulder blade. This wrap actually covers the knot (Yay!!), which was great (I cannot use this for my neck anymore. More on that later), but the portion that wraps around the neck isn’t as generous as on the shorter wrap I previously bought, so it’s six of one, half dozen of the other. I need the heat therapy for the entire area - neck and upper back, and I find I have to chose which area needs it most at the time then use the corresponding wrap. Also, because of the length of this wrap, which is great, it is sort of lopsided in weight. It often wants to fall off my back side. It would be helpful if there was more material on the neck piece and more filling. This would help solve the lopsided weight issue, as well as the issue of having enough material to wrap around the neck. At a minimum there should at least be a strap or clasp to keep the thing from falling off. Lastly, I was not crazy about ordering this item due to the scent. I thought it would be bothersome to me if I had a headache (sometimes I use heat for a headache) but I decided to try it and just not use it when I had a headache. What I didn’t count on is that it was very bothersome for my asthma. The scent had provoked two asthma attacks so even though I have only had this wrap for about a week, I really refrain now from using it for my neck. Since I have osteoarthritis in my knees, I have been using it for my knees instead. Its large enough to drape over both of them at the same time. Since the wrap is not so close to my face as it was when I was using it as intended around my neck, I’m not breathing in the scent so much and it does not induce asthma attacks. I had initially tried to find this with no aromatherapy (scentless) before I bought this one but could not find it offered without the scent, so I took a gamble and, again, it was headaches I was worried about. I never in a million years thought it would affect my asthma. I would recommend offering this product in sent-less, as well. Not everyone wants aromatherapy or can tolerate it. At any rate, I decided not to return the product since I can use it for my knees. On the plus side, the moist heat is great! It would be even better if it retained the heat a little longer. Can get about 10 minutes out of it.

I love this wrap! It's huge, nicely weighted and drapes perfectly around the neck and shoulders. I've been looking for something like this for a long time to replace something similar that I bought many years ago that one of my pups destroyed while teething. Most options that I have found are in the $70-80 range which is outrageous. The price point on this one was just right! I was beginning to think i would have to sacrifice size in order to stay on budget until i found this one. It's so large I was worried it wouldn't fit in my microwave but folded in half, then rolled up it fits. Then only thing I would change is the minky fabric. Although it's nice and soft (and I know people love it), I would have preferred a cotton flannel to any synthetic fabric. That being said, I give this 5 stars over all and I'm extremely happy to have it.

So disappointed in this purchase. I've been using the same microwavable heating pads for 20 plus years. This one does not have sufficient amount of filling to keep the neck portion up, The fabric around the collar is very loose and feels like just a bunched up mess at the back of the neck. The bottom portion of the back doesn't come down to cover my shoulder blades. This company (PhysioNatural) makes a really great lower back/lumbar heating pad, but this one for the shoulder/shoulder blades in my opinion doesn't have enough filling to do it's job around the neck and lower portion of the shoulder blades. Returning to try a different brand.

I love this thing. I warm it up in my microwave for about 2.5-3 minutes, then place it around my shoulders and let the heat sync in.... Ahhhhhhhhhh. I' at the computer for most of my work day, and a lot of my free time, too. I store a lot of tension in my neck and shoulders and this thing eases that muscle stress considerably. The weight combined with the heat is super relaxing, especially before bed. I didn't know if I would like the scent, because I'm super fussy about scents - I don't like artificial, fakey smells - but this smells like authentic essential oils, soft and pleasant, not overbearing. If you have neck or shoulder muscle tension, this is well worth the cost and trouble. Highly effective.
