An amazing bargain for a very capable emergency radio.
Today we unbox the budget friendly WeatherX WR182R Emergency AM FM NOAA weather band portable radio. At $14, is it good? I say "Yes!" Search my name and model number on youtube for an in-depth video review. Features I like about this radio: * Good reception on the NOAA weather bands. * Functional AM reception. * Flashlight. * Internal rechargeable battery. * Dynamo. * Ability to charge USB devices. * Optional AA battery source. * Compact. * Durable construction. Features that could be added or improved on: * Dedicated charger built into the device. * Dedicated charge ports instead of adapters..those can get lost. * Solar. * Improved FM reception. Antenna is pretty small. Overall, I recommend this radio as a buy! Probably one of the better emergency radios I've seen under $20, and this one is under $15! If you don't own an emergency radio and don't want to spend a bunch of money, this one is for you. I really like it.

Overall pleased but may only charge iPhones
Overall pleased with the flashlight and radio/weather radio. Both work well on either AA batteries or just the hand crank. The device wouldn't charge my phone however I don't have an iPhone so that might be a factor. I noticed the box it came in says "iPhone" "iPad" charging. Not too concerned about that since I can charge my phone from a car battery. Seems like a good device to have on hand as an emergency/power outage backup. I initially had a problem with the AA power as confusing which direction one of the batteries was supposed to go but after trial and error found the winning combination.

in good condition. It has a dial for "tuning"
This Weather NOAA radio receiver was inexpensive and came on time, in good condition. It has a dial for "tuning", "volume" with it's power on. There is a slide switch on the same side for the 3 LED flashlight, and a switch on the top marked "'WB", "AM, "FM". On the other side is the crank, retractable antenna, and a selection switch for "rechargeable battery" or user installed "AA batteries". This side also has a removable panel to install those batteries. Additionally, there is a crank charging indicator LED marked "dynamo". The reception isn't the greatest, probably because of my living space. I can go outside or near a window to get better reception. The radio can be turned to get best reception. The antenna is movable in 180 degrees also for better reception. The crank must be turned at 2 revolutions a second (count 1 thousand and one, 1 thousand and 2 for each 2 seconds) for proper charging. It is made of sturdy red and black plastic. I wish the flashlight would have more LEDS, but it works for me in my home and considering it runs off of rechargeable batteries. I believe it would last on a charge well, I've charged it once a month and tested it. I would recommend this product to another for hand-crank emergency all weather radio and flashlight.

Poor Reception, Too Much Interference
I was looking to replace an old weather band radio so gave this WeatherX a try. It's inexpensive and cute. It can use 3 AA batteries instead of those goofy solar panels - which is great! You can put another set or two in your bugout bag. However, it only picked up one weather station and that was unintelligible due to loud interference. AM/FM was not much better. Nothing came in clear, no matter where I tried it. The body flexes when you wind the crank and the crank itself feels like it would easily snap unless you're careful. Even the flashlight wasn't as bright as my old one. I sent this back and spent three bucks more for one of those no-name AM/FM/WB radios you see from several vendors on Amazon (the ones with goofy solar panels) - it doesn't have the battery capability but it gets a ton more stations, has better sound quality, feels sturdier and has brighter lights than either my old one or this WeatherX-branded one. I recommend you pass this one by. There are much better options out there.

It works
Very scratchy sound but for hurricane warnings it’s very effective and the price is right. They only downside is it none of the things that you would connect to like your iPhone have the right size cord to fit in the iPhone. I thought it would charge my phone, but it doesn’t.

Great radio
I bought this several years ago and realized I never put a review on it. It works really good, great weather band channel. Also, the crank worked and I was able to continue using radio until I was able to get new batteries. Haven't really used light, but it works and I can see where it would be helpful if in a storm and carrying the radio around to keep up with the weather.

DID NOT COME WITH CHARGING CABLE OR POWER ADAPTER I COULD USE
This radio is okay if you live in a hurricane zone however the PHONE charging devices that came with it don’t fit current devices. It says it has a USB cable but it’s different than every other USB I have. It does not fit anything. You have to use batteries. The hand crank only charges the rechargeable battery for 5 minutes. In other words it really doesn’t have a long lasting rechargeable battery. PLUS if you want to plug it in you have to purchase a separate plug. Also the reception is poor.

Value for the money is outstanding
For the price, this is a handy little gadget. I have only tested it in an apartment building, but I am able to get all 3 bands of radio clearly. Bought for its ability to deliver news and weather reports without depending on any power source. The flashlight is a bonus and produces a usable amount of light for short range. I like that the dynamo has a light to indicate whether you are generating power. In a real pinch it can be used as a powerplant to charge usb devices. Comes with some handy dandy charging adaptors. For the money you can not go wrong. Sounds like a clock radio but this is a budget survival radio. We can live without bass in emergencies.

Great buy.
Very compact in size. Crank appears to work well....radio played for quite some time on minimal craking. Sound is really good. Would have given it 5 stars if I could have gotten one NOAA channel. I suppose where we live (Hamilton/Ancaster Ontario) the closest station may be little too far. Was able to get all other stations. I purchased this for when the power goes out and have no other access to the world. It did come with cell phone adapters for emergency charge....never tried it. Does have AA battery back-up. For $20 it was a great buy. I would recommend everyone have something for emergencies. You don't need to spend hundreds to have something decent in case of emergency.

Excelente radio de emergencias. Tiene todas sus funciones, hasta la estación de emergencias en CDMX. Funciona tanto el radio como la lámpara sin baterías, solamente con el Dynamo
