The magnet on the base is definitely a plus. The aluminum housing is rugged as well. Although the single end LED is rated at a higher current draw, I find the side lights provide almost as good a luminance, and I use them more than the end light.

Disclosure: I received this product for free from Wagan as a party gift as I know the company founders personally.This is a great light. Both bulb options are crazy bright. The magnet on the end is strong enough to hold the light securely upside-down or horizontally, as long as you're attaching to a relatively flat piece of metal. If you want to attach it to a metal cylinder, like the leg of a chair, you'll probably need to add some tape or something else to support it. I especially like that it takes regular AAA so I can use rechargeables.
