Has anyone in Southern California tried this? Trying to attract other types of birds other than sparrows with traditional bird seed lol

Hi - I live in Southern California, Los Angeles County. I only use this brand's DECK, PORCH N PATIO ZERO WASTE BLOCK in the green wire block feeder meant for it and also in an open tray feeder. My backyard birds (white-crowned sparrows, house sparrows, house finches and goldfinches) love it. Note: the white-crowned sparrows are only seasonal in my area from around November through March. Can starlings eat this?

Yes. Starlings and grackles have cleaned out my feeders in just a few hours using this food and other similar types. If you don't want to feed starlings, try striped sunflower seeds and safflower seeds in your feeders until they move on.
