Pipes don't freeze.
Works as well as manufacturer states. Pipes or faucet doesnt freeze. It still seems odd, not to have insulated outdoor faucets. But these things work.

Amazing product! Works really well
I used this in Maryland through winter storm Fern and this saved my outdoor spigot from freezing. It was very easy to install, just screw on and open the tap, I placed a tub underneath it to catch any water when the Freeze Miser went off, but that wasnt really nessessary. Had no issues the entire storm, much better then leaving your sipgot just dripping and hoping it doesnt freeze.

Perfect as secondary measure
After 1 day with temperatures of 0 to -6 celsius (30 to 21 F). It works as expected which is a relieve. Other freezing moments have been difficult to sort it out because the kitchen faucet will not drip and it is located exactly on the wall subject to freezing pipes. Sometimes leaving the cabinets open is not enough. The drip is very effective, I observed 1 drip every 3 seconds at minus 5 celsius (23 F). While installing, I had to use threading tape to properly seal the valve connection. I learned that too loose, it wonโt work properly.

Donโt be tempted by other similar products that are cheaper
I need a two, so I purchased this and another product that was cheaper. This worked perfectly and the other product worked intermittently which defeats the purpose so spend a little extra and get this for peace of mind during a hard freeze

Watch to make sure it works with a vacuum breaker or take off your vacuum breaker during winter.
When I first installed it, I attached to my NEW vacuum breaker/backflow or anti-siphon device which is CODE for outdoor faucets/spigots. At first, it worked fine as there were no leaks. (Not freezing temps yet) yet the next morning water was pouring out around the vacuum breaker. Freeze miser says it works with vacuum breakers unless the vacuum breaker is bad. My vacuum breaker is brand new, and it did hold for several hours. It was sometime during the night when it began to pour out water PRIOR to temperatures reaching 37 degrees or below. I initially did not see instructions on my freeze miser regarding vacuum breakers, until I researched it. Since my vacuum breaker was new, I was able to take it off for winter use and install the freeze miser and it has worked fine. It does what its supposed to do. I'm in Texas and we just experienced 21 degree temps and the freeze miser began to drip as it is supposed to below 37 degrees. I would give 5 stars, but not sure how to make it work without taking off the vacuum breaker, which is not an easy task without replacing the whole faucet itself, since the set screw is usually broken off to keep the vacuum breaker from being removed.

Works great
Bought for the recent winter storm in Texas. Put on a Y on the cows water trough like shown. It worked great at keeping the waterline flowing. It did not keep the water trough from freezing except a tiny hole where it was dripping but I didnt expect it to. The float also froze solid but because the line didnt freeze I was able to just take the hose off and spray the water up into the float to unfreeze it. Very happy I purchased this.

Poorly Designed Product, Terrible Seller, and Terrible Amazon A-Z Guarantee Support
Purchased two units in November 2025 for use in two outdoor faucets. Installed them sometime in December as the weather started getting cold. They seemed to be operating fine. Toward January end, my hometown like many parts of the US was impacted by a winter storm that led to subzero temperatures, freezing rain and several inches of ice all over. Toward January 30 one unit failed overnight -- it opened full blast and water was gushing out when I looked out the next morning. Given precarious ice all over, I somehow managed to slide and slither my way to the faucet and turned it off (the product requires it to be in full on position). I searched online and found that some folk had found the unit could get stuck in open position in extremely hard water and the solution was to clean the valve t by soaking in vinegar for a few hours followed by refrigeration. I tried that but it remained stuck. I emailed the manufacturer asking for help. Simultaneously, I contacted the seller asking for a return and refund. To my surprise, he sent me a return label for the one unit but to send it back by USPS in two days -- latest by Sunday, February 1. While I was in dialog with the seller and the manufacturer, the second unit also failed., water gushing out for several hours before I became aware and managed to shut off the outdoor faucet in extreme snow and ice. I wrote back to the seller explaining that Sunday was a postal holiday, that the entire city was iced over and we were all waiting for the ice to thaw and to give me more time. No response. I wrote to the manufacturer asking them for help in getting a refund. They asked that I contact the seller and see what happens, but they would "take care" of me. I explained that the products do not work as expected. To my surprise, the manufacturer said that the product worked as designed -- because of the extreme freeze, the product had allowed water to gush full force and not trickle out as it was designed to! I had expected it would allow water to keep trickling/flowing and not gush out. The product, despite its name -- Freeze Miser -- was certainly not miserly and certainly not in freezing weather!! I wrote back again to the seller asking for more time and a label to help me return 2 units and not one. This and one further attempt yielded no response whatsoever from the seller till date. I approached A-Z Guarantee for help. A very hostile individual from A-Z pushed back very hard and said (i) I had not returned the product within 30 days and (ii) I had not utilized the return label with 14 days!! Neither of these is true -- I was not required to return the product in 30 days (I had until Jan 31 to return when purchased these in November) and my return label offered me two days Jan 31 and Feb 1 when we were ice-bound and I had no idea I could return it in 14 days (neither the seller nor Amazon had informed me of this)!! This person then abruptly shut my response window off so I could not write back pointing why he was unreasonable and wrong at many levels. The manufacturer, for what it's worth, sent me two replacement units although I had asked for a cash refund. These are sitting unopened in a draw ... nothing more than paperweights in a paperless world as I cannot trust them not to fail when temperatures drop way below zero. Bitter experience all around.

I must have for winter time
This is a great product to have! You will not regret it! When I first discovered this product from a friend at a local Feed store, they were selling them, but they were too expensive and I found them cheaper on Amazon. After doing some research I placed a phone call to the company of this product and one thing that they recommended before use is to place this product in a freezer, yes thatโs right a freezer. This allows you to make sure the product is working and will work in cold temperatures. By placing it in the freezer, it allows the product to start working the colder it gets. You can make sure that it works by observing the Pin opening when itโs cold that allows water to drip from your faucet. My friend told me about this and recommended storing it in the freezer, but itโs not necessary to store in your freezer. You only put it in the freezer before used to make sure it works properly. I found this information very helpful. Therefore I wanted to pass it on to anyone considering this product. I bought one for all of my water faucets because on two homes on my property at a 15 acre horse ranch. I donโt think you will regret buying this. I know I didnโt. I hope you found this review helpful.

Worked well
These did the job pretty well. My hose didnโt freeze up even when it was well below freezing. I got the 2 pack and one was faulty unfortunately but the other worked well

Disappointing! Useless! Dont waste your money!
Purchased this to stop some outdoor taps freezing, unfortunately i was past the returns deadline or i would be sending it back, at 4 degrees c, the valve opens at full bore. Not the trickle as designed, meaning even if the temperature doesnt drop to freezing its completely flooded the whole yard, might as well just leave the tap on full for the amount of water gushing out! Complete waste of money

Works as described
These work as described. when it gets to -15 c it will allow for a small drips of water so the pipes don't freeze. when the temp is above zero then the unit stops water leakage from a bad facet. Handy when you cant get a plumber right away.

Worked great
Used for one season. Worked great. No frozen taps and without the sheet of ice if taps were left dripping all the time.
