Q: I use oil-based (NOT wax-based) pencils. These two mediums have different blending requirements. What is the medium in these blender pens?

I have a set of Lyra oil based pencils. It came with its own blender pencil . I also use prismacolor pencils. I use prismacolor blender on those. To tell you the truth, I cannot tell the difference. As far as the blender pens, both the derwent and prismacolor blenders seem to work. I also use the marker blenders on both types of pencils with sometimes interesting results. I do not know exactly what is. In these blenders, but they seem to be water or alcohol based. I would recommend you try all kinds of markers. Heck, you are the artist. You can use anything you want. Maybe you will invent something unique.

Q: Do these work with Inktese watercolor pencils

I have never tried using the Derwent Blender Pens with my Inktense watercolor pencils because the blender pens are used for wax base pencil and the inktense are water blended. Try it on a scratch paper but I would not be surprised if it didn't work. You could use a water brush to help in blending your inktense pencils.

Q: Can It be used to blend with markers too?

No because they dissolve the wax in the pencils. Not all markers are blendable. You would need an alcohol blender for markers.
