This is by far the most emotional and overall GREATEST darker romance I have ever read.
It’s so hard to describe everything I feel from reading this series. The was the ride of a freaking lifetime. I cried so much through all of these, both happy tears and sad tears. I went through every emotion reading these - there is a LOT of tragedy and heartbreak, longing, hoping, while there is also so much anger for everything these characters you come to love have to endure. There was so much depth to each character throughout the entirety of this series. I would love to see some more on Luciella and Base.I was genuinely shocked by the depth of the plot too. You can find in any genre that a lot of plots can start to be predictable, but absolutely NOT with these. The plot was genuinely so original and sooooo good. I seriously don’t know that any dark romance book or series will beat this one.**possible spoilers**It’s wild to think of where everything started back in one to where it needed. These characters have been through literally h*** and back, but still ended up getting a HEA, thank GOD.

Emotion and the perfect ending for Stacey and Kade!
Restitution is the heart wrenching and powerful conclusion to The Edge of Darkness Trilogy. Like the previous books, this one was incredibly difficult for me to get through…emotionally intense, deeply traumatic, and painfully raw. I’ve never cried so much over a story, but every tear was worth it to finally see Kade and Stacey reach their hard earned happily ever after. This final installment takes an even darker turn than last book, so I strongly urge readers to check the trigger warnings before diving in. The emotional weight is heavy, and at times, I found myself genuinely upset with the direction the story took, especially near the end. After everything these two have endured, some of the final events felt almost unnecessarily cruel. That said, I understand the author’s vision, and the ending, while painful, was still meaningful and beautifully executed. What truly elevates this series is the phenomenal audiobook production. Teddy Hamilton and Lucy Rivers are Kade and Stacey, capturing every nuance of their pain, growth, and love. The supporting cast JF Harding, Shane East, Michelle Sparks, Zara Hampton-Brown, and Roxelana Waters adds remarkable depth and emotion, making the entire experience feel immersive and unforgettable.Despite the emotional toll, this trilogy has secured a place on my all time favorites list. If you’re looking for a dark romance that doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities of trauma, healing, and love, The Edge of Darkness Trilogy is a must read. Just prepare yourself, you’re going to feel every second of it.

Trilogy overall is good but a bit overhyped
Overall, I did enjoy this trilogy but it didn’t quite meet my expectations after all the rave reviews on booktok. I expected a 5 star trilogy but it kinda fell flat in some areas for me which I think mainly was based on the writing. Oftentimes, I felt like I was reading a summary of important parts of a story with missing information. It would jump time/place/setting without a smooth transition. Some of the phrasing was odd as well which may be because she’s not American so I’m just not familiar with it. I also found book 3 to be a little repetitive.Outside of those complaints, I still gave it a 4 star overall because I could look past those bothersome pieces and enjoy the story. I still highly suggest giving it a try if it interests you.I did get invested in the storyline, cheering for the FMC & MMC in their trials, loving the side characters, hating the villains, crying for their successes and supporting the revenge plot. It took a roller coaster ride of emotions to get to a HEA but thankfully we did.I will note there’s a lot of dark content in all 3 books. Please check the full list of trigger warnings. (a few examples: gun violence, A LOT of sexual assault, gang r@pe, torture, forced cannibalism, forced sexwork, drugging, etc)Tropes• Enemies to lovers• Best Friends brother• Forbidden Romance• Second change romance• Revenge plot• Touch her and die

Emotional rollercoaster but I loved this series!
⚠️ Please check you TWs before reading this series. This series deals with every possible TW out there.I loved this book and this entire series. Man it was a tough read emotionally. I was happy, sad, disgusted, raging, heartbroken.. I mean literally every emotion out there Leigh Rivers literally gave me all the emotional whiplash 😭 But was it worth it? yes, yes it was. Kade and Stacey were everything.Stacey always the positive outlook and a steady anchor for Kade, loving him through everything. And Kade, oh man what a journey, his story broke my heart, his trauma, his brokenness, hopelessness. I had no idea how Leigh was going to finish their story and it had me reading non stop until I finished it.This book had a tiny bit of repetition in the internal thoughts and memories of the characters which seemed like filler that didn’t need to be there, just enough to notice but other than that, I loved this conclusion to this trilogy. I loved the side characters and how she threw in the different twist. Some I saw coming, some I didn’t. This whole series was so well written and I loved every moment of it.Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
