Self-Healing Clear Paint Protection Bra—Door Sill Kit (64in x 3in)

I hesitated on ordering this product (Install Proz Door Sill Kit) because I thought it was a little pricey, but it looked pretty good and it was clear which is what I wanted so I rolled the dice. I'm glad I did. The material is high quality, not just a cheap decal, and is very forgiving during installation. The amount provided (64"x3") was perfect to do both the front and rear door sills on my 2018 VW GTI so it should be just right for any MK7 Golf. It looks great installed and is almost invisible. I will update this review if I encounter any issues after installation.

Only giving 4 stars as the instructions suck and the packaging is so lackluster it almost seems like a ripoff. Now onto the good part, this is perfect for what it's designed for and is easy to apply if someone would have spent 5 minutes writing some instructions. Mix 25% isopropyl alcohol with 75% water and spray area this is going applied liberally. Wipe it a few times to make sure it's clean. Then spray it heavily with the same solution and remove the adhesive backing and apply to the heavily wetted area. Then spray the top and use a rubber squeegee starting at the middle and working gently out to the ends. Work out the air bubbles gently. If it gets twisted then pull it back up and heavily wet again. Took me a few times to get the hang of it. Once the air bubbles are out it's almost invisible. Hopefully it will hold up well. It is very tough material so I have high hopes. This should keep the door sill from getting scratched from people dragging their feet accross the paint. The packaging and instructions are a joke and for $20+ dollars it should include a rubber squeegee. Luckily I had one and it worked out well.

Works perfectly for Honda CR-V 2019 and it's so thin and clear that you won't feel anything there but it will give adequate protection. 1 unit has 2 sheets of 32 inches long, 3 inch wide each. This is well enough to cover all 4 doors. Cover only the main area where mostly legs get in & out. I have used 19 inch for front door and 13 for rear.Watch installation video on YouTube to understand nitty gritty. I would recommend to take a measuring tape and take measurements of the area you want to cover in front and rear doors and then cut accordingly.

I cut this into 4 separate pieces guessing where shoes might scuff up the paint, so essentially I had enough for front and rear doors.Make sure you clean the areas with a clean cloth to remove dust particles and then soak the same areas with 75% water and 25% isopropyl alcohol from a squirt bottle. Then peel off clear coat from backing and soak both sides with same solution and keep it off from the ground to avoid particles and if you do get particles on it spray and it should come off easily.Then apply and use rubber squeegee starting from center <------> (Left & Right) to remove water and bubbles.Do not wash car for a day in order to let film dry.

This product requires use of a solution, and it wasn't the right product as described on the site. There are many other products available that doesn't require use of a solution that could potentially damage the car.Unfortunately after buying and trying to install, I had to dump it in the trash.

Product is great but was expecting to get a full kit to do front and back doors. This is only enough for the driver and passenger so if you want to do a 4 door vehicle you have to buy 2 kits.

So far, I’m very happy I purchased this kit. The door sill on my last vehicle got quite scratched from my wife and I getting in and out of the car. This product is made from the same material they use for the clearbra on the front of vehicles. I decided to trim my kit a little with a pair of scissors for a better fit, but it was easy to do. The installation video really helped the installation go smoothly. I would definitely purchase again.
