Photograph of the product is inaccurate. The kit picture shows leather strops, diamond paste and lapping film. What I received did not come with any strops or diamond paste. My kit showed up with a glass platten and some lapping film. For $1300 I figure the product photograph and the item description would be more accurate.

Follow instructions. Set up does take a bit of knowledge but if you can do basic mechanical things you will have no problem. Then start sharpening. I looked at a few different videos and got a friend to show me how he uses his. Not difficult once you get the hang.
