The neck/fretboard make the guitar easier to play than some guitars I have used in the past (my 14 year old daughter is also using it to learn on, and so far, apart from the obvious sore fingers, she is finding it quite easy to pick up and play). The amp is not the best amp in the world, it has basic volume, bass and treble controls as well as an overdrive switch, but is well up to the job as a starter amp, and it has an output for headphones, which is a must if you don't want annoy your neighbours/partner/parents. All in all, this is a fantastic package to start learning on. I've also plugged the guitar into a decent amp, and it sounds as good as some guitars that cost far more money. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get into playing electric guitar, I would highly recommend this package. I've only had it a week so reliability is yet to be established, but from the way the guitar looks and performs, it seems decent enough quaity to last for some time.
