Review: Very good book for beginner and advanced machine knitters - I'm a beginner machine knitter after years of hand knitting. Purchased a standard gauge machine and the Lk150. The technique of the latched-edge cast-on on the face of the fabric (page 118-119) is a very valuable technique that I haven't seen demonstrated on Youtube or in books. After contacting the publisher about a possible error demonstrating this technique, they responded quickly, along with the author, and noted that they have added the errata to their website. There's a proverb that goes......"In a multitude of words, there will certainly be error". This is in no way my critisim of this book as I have been tech editing knitting patterns for independent designers and always catch things. Just ask my husband. I want to shout-out to the knitting commnunity to get this book!! Extremely well-written, informative and chock-full of detailed steps for the hand and machine knitter. i wonder if any machine knitters ever cross over to hand knitting? I gave this a 5-star review because it is one of the best books for knitters that I have ever read,
Review: Excellent Coverage of Topics, Great Photos and Illustrations - I've been machine knitting for several years, primarily on Studio/Silver-Reed (standard, medium and bulky) machines but haven't mastered hand knitting due to arthritis. The physical book is superbly produced (high quality paper, binding, photography, color balance, clean layout). The topics are covered in good detail, including a bit of history, put into modern context. It's not so much a "how to" cookbook, as one would expect in an instruction manual, although one should be able to glean enough information to accomplish the technique. The references (one page at the end of the book) provide some basic sources, though most information could be efficiently gathered by online searches. The list of suppliers for equipment and yarns are based in the UK, but we know how to locate ones closer to home, so this is not a problem. The text is really well-written, very clearly presented, easy on the eyes, and a pleasure to read. This book will become an important part of my extensive library on knitting. In short, I LOVE this book! Congratulations to Dr. Haffenden on an excellent book that should become a classic.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing book

I love this book. I also have the The Knitting Book that she co authored. I would definitely buy this again. It’s jammed pack with clear colored up close pictures and plenty of diagrams. I work full time and my hobbies are all the fiber arts, spinning, hand knitting and weaving. I bought this book to help me use the new bulky and mid gauge machines I recently purchased.
