Great for cleaning up sharp edges on metal and plastic rods after cutting to length, especially useful if you are going to thread the rod. I tried it on metal, plastic and wood. Works as advertised on plastic and metal although I had a little difficulty with chatter on plastic. It does not work on wood as the chamfer looks chewed rather than cut. I do not recommend this for wood. I do not blame the tool for this, as it is clearly not designed to cut wood. The seller should not have indicated it for use on wood. This tool is only intended for deburring and chamfering, which removed only a small amount of metal. If you want to use it to sharpen the end of a rod you are going to be disappointed.
