I find the radio is very tinny in sound **Q: What is the AM frequency range for this radio?** A: The specifications in the linked operating instructions say that the AM frequency coverage is from 520 to 1710 kHz. In a test with the radio, it could receive a station on 1690 kHZ, which was verified with a fully digital radio. **Q: The radio made in Taiwan or Dongguan China?** A: This is a darn good question. The company was founded in 1974 and is headquartered in Zhonghe District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, with a factory located in Dongguan, China.I don't know where this analog pocket radio is produced, there is no information on the radio itself.Technically, the concept of the radio is good and I found it has the best sound for this size, period.The problems are elsewhere: for the first year I gave them a 5 stars grade. After cca 1 year the moving parts start faltering and I lowered the grade to 1 star only.It is finicky to tune, the volume adjustment is scratchy and uneven, drifting is pronounced, jumps in places you do not expect. In short, it is a pain to tune into your desired station.I bought 3 SR-35 and all have these problems. Conclusion: a very good radio concept failed by incorporating sub-grade moving parts such as variable condenser and volume potentiometer.Regrettable, but true. You may want to buy one, maybe they improved them since 2 1/2 years ago.By the way, some radios produced by KAITO (chinese company) are on par with those made in Japan: I bought a KAITO 1103 which is as good as SONY 7600-GR (both shortwave radios).Good luck. **Q: Hello. i'm from the philippines. if i decide to buy this sangean sr-35, will i receive the black body with orange prints version?** A: Mine came through with the Orange print, but I am not sure which one you would receive. I think the Orange print is the current version.
