This model is designed for use on 120 V.A.C. only. Check with the manufacturer for any models designed for 220 volt operation. **Q: battery operated?** A: Sorry, it is not battery operated. It's a good stapler - only thing I don't like is that it makes a really LOUD noise when stapling, but it does go through up to 25 sheets of 20# paper. Great quality ### ⭐ Not satisfied *by C***D on September 22, 2025* If I could give it fewer stars, I certainly would. This stapler jams every few staples. It drives the staple so far into the paper packet with such force that the first page just falls off with holes in it but no staple. I bought it to use in my classroom and it jams so often that I cannot even use it for its intended purpose. It was more expensive and larger than the previous one I had, and a Swingline.
