The first 6 I orders ranged from $45 to $70 -- Dorman was double that at $145 -- but it actually fit like the original OEM connector plug. The other DISA valves desertcart had -- have a different electrical connector where the 2 inner prongs are smaller and closer spaced-- which won't let the OEM plug connect. There was another DISA valve that had the correct electrical connector plug-- but it's valve was sized for the 2.5 liter engine -- not the 3.0 liter. The 2004-2006 X3 M54 engines were still made in the Germany plant-- perhaps the other DISA valves desertcart offers fit M54 engines from the Spartanburg SC plant. My car has been having trouble with low power at low and high rpm power for over a year and I have been checking a lot of things. I just now (Feb 2016) removed this DISA valve and looked at it. To my total surprise, there is nothing left on the inside. It looks like everything either fell apart or melted into the intake manifold. I don't know what other damage this caused to my engine, but I would definitely NOT recommend this chinese knock off, unless you don't care about your engine. The original OEM valve failed after 9-10 years but it was just a flap failure where it would rotate freely. This unit failed catastrophically probably within one year. ..............Update Feb 16, 2016....................... I took my car to a BMW specialist because my car was still running poorly and I started hearing a rattle from my engine and thought it was most likely a result of the broken DISA valve parts. They confirmed the noise was coming from my intake manifold. Unfortunately they could not see the parts using a scope, so ended up removing the entire intake manifold and retrieved the flap with (at least) a portion of the metal pin that resides on the end of the flap. They said the frame of the valve most likely broke up and went through my engine. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are the part that was retrieved. The cost for the service was over $500. ............... Updated Feb 22, 2016.................................. The car is still not running right as it does not accelerate hard like it should when "pushed" at highway speeds. I took it back to the Mechanic. He found that it is throwing codes 304, 305, and 306 which is a general misfire on bank 2 cylinders. He did some more testing and found that the bank 2 exhaust header is clogged. He believes that some of the plastic parts from the failed Runner valve made it through to the catalytic converter on Bank 2 and clogged it. He measured 20 PSI of back pressure when it should be under 3 psi. A new Catalytic converter on this car is $950 plus labor to install.
