I have used the older model for many years as my primary moisture meter, and would take it over any other meter I have ever used. The survey master coupled with the Tramex Moisture encounter plus for masonry and concrete will have covered for just about any situation you could find yourself in. I love the larger screen and dry standard reference mode this new meter has, and the fact it uses AAs instead of 9v fixed the only complaint I have ever had with this meter.
