Excellent puerh tea at a bargain price
The tea cake was shipped promptly and arrived quickly. The packaging was not only effective at protecting the tea cake, it was beautiful as well. A lot of thought and creativity went into the product design. This cake compares favorably with other cakes I have purchased from other vendors. The tea cake wrapper was beautiful--the wrapper was well printed, clean and neatly folded. The cake itself had a nice surface to it--the tea was well and evenly compressed into the cake shape. It had a very mild earthy scent typical of puerh tea and slightly soft to the touch. The cake broke apart easily with a standard puerh knife. The tea when brewed was gentle to the tongue, not overly strong or bitter after a little less than a minute of steeping. The flavor and scent of the brewed tea was mild but rich, with notes of butter and caramel. The color was a deep amber to dark brown. The number of steepings and length of time of those steepings should be based on personal experimentation. There is a lot of tea here so you can try a lot of variations to see what fits your tastes. If you want to get the most flavors out of the tea though you should do multiple short steepings to truly enjoy the tea. For those who want high intensity flavor you can always brew with more tea and more time. Such an approach though may make you miss some of the more subtle flavors and scents in the tea. The vendor also included a card good for a free sample of other products from the same factory. This was a nice way to thank their customers and also a good way to get people to try some new products. I'm not sure if the sample offer is a limited time thing or not. All in all an excellent product with excellent customer service.

Delicious tea, zero bitterness
My favorite tea. The only thing that keeps headaches at bay on days I don't drink coffee. I personally think it's delicious. Doesn't have the bitter taste of Turkish tea or other teas dried with heat. Highly recommend.

Exquisite Fragrant Tea - Beautiful Packaging
The packaging of this tea brick was so elegant it made me want to treasure this purchase even more. The flavor is unbelievable in such an affordable tea. It has a lovely earthy nutty scent and flavor that fills your senses in a peaceful way. The brick needs to be cut into pieces for each steeping which was a unique experience for me and made me wish I knew the exact protocol for making this type of tea. Regardless is is memorable and special from start to finish. It is my new "Sunday" tea for the day when I have a whole pot of a special tea and relax to good music. Thank-You for making such a high quality product!

Really good value if you drink nicer tea on a daily basis.
I have been a tea drinker for many years, but am new to pu’er tea. The reason I did not give it an overall 5 stars is because I have not tried others to compare it too. This tea has been the highlight of my mornings for the last 2 months and I especially looked forward to the 2nd steep! This tea was ever so gentle with honey like undertones, a little earth and a sprinkle of love. I do hope you give this a try too! I plan to try a few others and revisit this one to see if my feelings are still the same.

Good Flavor, Aroma, and Taste for the Price.
This is one of my favorite Puerh Pressed Tea Cakes. Good Flavor, Aroma, and Taste for the Price. I've bought several of them, - some for now, - and the rest for later. Puerh Tea is FERMENTED, Not Oxydized, - so it AGES Well. Just keep it in a Cool, Dark, and Dry place. The Price is Reasonable, - and the Flavor, Taste, and Aroma Quality are Good Enough for my Daily Drinking Tea. 5-STARS... !!! ---------------------- ----------------------

good flavor, good price, good tea
this ripe puerh tea tastes like the puerh tea that i've had at chinese restaurants (the real kind, not the ones that serve american-style “chinese” food). the flavor is a bit hard to describe, but i would say it's a smooth mild bitterness. these words might not sound appealing, but the taste is actually very good. there’s also a slight hint of sweetness too, but it’s not strong and it’s also not the grassy type of sweetness you would find in some less processed teas. as is customary, this ripe puerh tea was processed in compressed cake form, and bacteria and other microorganisms were allowed to ferment the tea for a while before it was sold to the public. the amazon description says this tea was aged for at least 1 year. the flavor of the tea would change depending on the age. this seems to be a fairly “young” puerh tea. the conditions under which the tea fermented were also fairly sanitary since the tea does not have a fishy smell/flavor characteristic of less hygienic conditions. historically, in china some teas were processed in compact brick or cake forms for ease of storage, trade and transportation purposes. to serve this puerh tea, you would break off a little bit from the cake and then brew the small pieces as you would other loose leaf teas, while leaving the rest of the tea cake intact. i personally break up the whole cake right away into little chunks and store those in airtight containers, rather than leaving the more cumbersome tea cake around. this is for convenience, but might be considered heresy to some puerh tea purists. my father commented that this compressed cake puerh tea has a stronger flavor than what you would find in chinese restaurants. note that you can control the strength of the tea to your personal tastes. i brew the tea until it’s dark but still has a reddish color. the longer the tea brews, the more bitter the flavor. folks who are trying out tea as an alternative to coffee might enjoy this ripe puerh tea, especially if they’re used to drinking coffee black. this tea is affordable in price, so it’s well worth trying out if you’re even just a little bit curious about drinking ripe puerh tea or trying out tea in this special compressed cake form. it won’t break the bank, so why not give it a try? enjoy!
