I'm a big guy and this seems very sturdy. It was a little more expensive than similar ladders but is supposed to hold 500 lbs. I'm not nearly that heavy but the extra capacity makes for a very solid-feeling ladder. I don't feel any flex or creaking, though it does make a bit of a clunk when you step on the first step and it locks in place.
