Since the recipe makes over a gallon at a time I filled these and had extra. The type of material was important due to the chemicals in the water. They're great. I've had them filled for a few months now and they do not leak (I have carried them in my tool bag tightened and on their side with no leaks.) The lid is a little inset to the bottle rim - there is a little lip that goes inside. I mix my brush and a little clay with the magic water there and I can wipe it when I'm done. They're a great size. Hold just enough. They are priced nicely so that I can give these away to my friends because I made so much. I made thermal labels and stuck them on the outside to warn others that it was not drinkable water and the stickers do not peel off.
