Review: One that finally works as promised! - I've had several robot vacuums and mops over the years. Neatos, Roborocks, Dreames (last one was a Dreame L20). This is the first one that actually seems to work as promised! I live in the country, have 2 dogs that shed A LOT (white German Shepherd; could make a new dog from his shedding every couple days). And 6 cats. Between the shedding and dirt tracked in, keeping the place decently clean is a big issue. We have a 1 1/2 story, about 2300 SF combined, nearly all hard surface. A couple small area rugs. Setup was pretty minimal. Snap the rotating brushes in place, remove the packaging, fill the water tanks and it's good to go. App setup and connectivity were great. I've had to mess with others a bit, they didn't always find and connect to the router on the first try-this did. It did a quick software download and update and was good to go. Also worth mentioning is that moving the base didn't mess up the mapping-it recognized the new location and went to work. (I moved it due to the loudness of the dust-bin emptying-mentioned below). The mapping cycle is very good-it's quick, just a quick pop in each room and it's done, took maybe 15 minutes. Every other vacuum I've tried has had a major design issue. They don't return to the base to empty the dust bin often enough (with our hair collection). The dust bin get packed full, of course can't pick up any longer and just pushes dirt around. The hair packs so hard it's like felt-and the base can't empty that. Ones I've had don't let you adjust that. This one does! I ordered ours after our Dreame crapped out-so it was nearly a week before it was here. I deliberately minimized cleaning-to give it a robust test. And it passed with flying colors! Set the "return to base to empty" to the lowest setting and let it go. Worked perfectly, returned to the base every time and emptied completely. Yes, the emptying cycle is a little loud-but to me that's an effect of a very strong suction in the base-it empties the dust bin and sucks out the filter very well. Something that can't be said for some brands. Mopping-just as everyone else says-works VERY well. My Dreame just smeared the dirt around (in spite of how much was in the dirty water reservoir every time!). Always left little muddy round tracks on the floor. The water tanks are much smaller than the Dreame, probably 1/3-1/2 the size. But it uses so much less water that it's not an issue-lasts just as long before you need to fill/empty the tanks. Another observation-the ozone generator seems to make a difference. The dirty water reservoir in the Dreame stunk bad, even emptied every 1-2 days. Really bad. This one, I don't notice a smell, or at least I haven't yet. VERY nice-though not a critical consideration. Only minor complaint is that the fill port on the clean water tank is small, you have to be careful filling, either hold it, or make sure it's sitting in your sink where the water stream hits the port. Would be nice if the whole top flipped up, like the dirty water tank. But a very small annoyance. Another observation vs the Dreame. It would very rarely dock properly-it would try to climb the ramp to dock and the wheels would spin, causing the vacuum to get tilted and miss the docking/charging ports. In addition, the mop pads left a lot of dirt and hair on the ramp, contributing to the above problem. Between this issue and the above mentioned dust bin issue, I couldn't let it run "auto" on the whole house. Had to do a room at a time and hope for the best. The Eufy has been perfect-vacuumed/mopped exactly where the mapping says it should, has never NOT completed a cycle and docks perfectly. I mentioned how the Dreame left dirt/hair on the ramp. This one doesn't seem to do that. The roller retracts up into the unit and doesn't drag it's way up the ramp. The only place that gets a little nasty is the little tray where the mop pad is cleaned-but it lifts out and is simple to clean. Very nice design-and far easier to clean that the mop-pad washing area of the Dreame or any others with rotating pads. The roller is a game changer. What else? Vacuuming is VERY good. My Dream left little trails of dirt at every threshold and transition to a carpet-this doesn't. And it doesn't leave little piles when it starts climbing the ramp on the the dock. This one also picks up kitty litter specs, unlike the Dreame. That would leave a lot-and when they got on the wet mob pads, that clay would turn to mud and smear. Not here-nothing but a clean, streak free floor left. You can really tell the difference barefoot-no little specs of dirt, no stickiness. Lets talk edge/corner cleaning. I find the vacuuming/dry cleaning to be the best I've seen on any vacuum. The dual brushes seem to help and also make the cleaning process quicker. Since the unit is more squared off, the brushes are mounted towards the corners and extend out well past the body of the unit. The round ones stick out past the diameter-but since they are towards the front of the unit, they don't really get past the OD path at the widest part. Not explaining that well, but hopefully you get the idea. Most of the round ones do a little shuffle along the edge (unless they have an extended brush arm) to try to address this-the Eufy can just truck along straight. A few other observations. The transparent clean water tank is nice-you can see the water level without opening a cover and removing the tank to check it. The tanks are mounted fairly high, so you don't have to bend over as much to change them. And as mentioned they are smaller-and LIGHTER. Another point-the dust bag on the Dreame and some others mount low on the unit. You have to pull off a panel on the front towards the floor. A bit of a pain. I usually had to get on the floor to slide the bag into place, you can't really see the mounting rails standing up. This one mounts vertically and is much more accessible, you can see the mounting rails from above. One thing I haven't checked out-the Dreame had a filter in the back of the compartment where the bag goes. A fair amount of dirt bypasses the bag and plugs that filter-it is a pain to clean-in part because you need to lay on the floor to see it. I need to check on the Eufy and see if it has a similar filter-will do so and update. So-complaints? Not much really. The above mentioned small fill port. It would be nice to have larger water tanks-but again, not a big deal concerning how little it uses-and the small tanks are lighter. Would be nice to mop all the way to the edge-my Dreame did have the mop extend. But then-it's cleaning was pretty marginal, so it didn't help much. This is a very fair tradeoff. This is also a simpler mechanism and should be less failure prone. Now-my one real complaint? The price of the Eufy cleaning solution. $26 on desertcart for that little bottle. Kind of ridiculous. But that's it. I'm an engineer, and having owned several robot vacuums/mops, am pretty critical of design and performance issues. This is by far the best I've used. I recommend it (but be sure to get it on sale for $1,000, don't pay the $1500). It's amazing how far the industry has come and how much better products have gotten in the last 10 years or so. I'm sure that will continue!
Review: Decent but a lot of issues - I'll start off with my issues with the S1 Pro. I've had this thing for about a week, it took me 3 days to finally get the update to succeed, it kept failing and was not on my end, perfect internet connection and no issues. But my biggest issue with the robots thus far is the dirty reservoir tank that connects to the actual robot, the robot would go back to the station and would start the suction process to drain the dirty water reservoir, but unfortunately it wasn't actually draining because the dirty water reservoir was defective and wouldnt release the dirty water to be suctioned up into the dirty water tank on the station. So basically the robot would not Auto clean because the reservoir was full , so I had to babysit it and empty the reservoir manually every time it got Full, which is often because it has such a small tank. Now I didn't figure out the fix right away, it took me a few days to do all the troubleshooting steps of every possible thing and of course nothing worked, I finally found a local who had the same robot and asked if I could test out their dirty Reservoir in my robot and see what would happen and wouldn't you know it, it worked perfect with theirs and my robot drained the tank like a charm. During all this I was in communication with Eufy support. And what drives me mad is I tell them I did all the troubleshooting steps, I went and took the time to explain every single thing I did, what do you think they did?! They told me to do the same stuff over again, which actually drives me nuts. I asked him if they could just replace the dirty Reservoir or let me send the defective one back to them and send me a replacement, and they tell me I need to send back everything in order to get the Reservoir replaced, I'm still in communication with support, that's one of the reasons why this review is only two stars, they make everything so much more difficult for you. Why would you put the hassle on somebody to find a huge shipping box to package this ginormous station and ship it back, and on top of that you're going to have to wait several weeks before they actually send you the new robot, when this could easily be fixed with sending me a replacement part, that you know they have just sitting there. As far as everything else, before this I had the X10 Omni Pro and I'll say the S1 Pro is definitely an upgrade, the roller mop alone is a huge step up and does an excellent job at mopping my wood floors. It seems to get around pretty well and it's also a more compact unit then the x10 which means it can go under more furniture and does a little bit better in corners. The vacuum works great , the suction is very powerful and picks up everything so far, I don't see a whole lot of tangling from pet hair or anything like that either with the new rubber roller. It also gets over my rugs fine and can even go over an inch lip from my dining room to my kitchen. I think the only issue I've had so far with it not making it to one of the rooms, I have a ramp that it refuses to use, but the ramp does go into a room that's about a foot lower than the rest of the house, it tries to make it up the ramp which surprisingly the old X10 could do easily, but the S1 pro has some problems, so that's one room I can't have it clean. The battery life seems good also, I have it clean three medium sized rooms two times, four times a day and it's almost always full battery. It's also easy to control the robot with the app, there you can schedule Auto cleaning and control any aspect of the robot basically and the buttons on the actual station are also easy to work with. One thing I'm not a big fan of, is they have their own floor cleaner that connects to the station, which forces you to use their brand, which looks pretty expensive at over $30 per replacement. I haven't tried removing the cleaner yet to see if the station prevents you from cleaning without it. But hopefully you can still just use water and if you really want to try your luck you could probably mix some type of floor cleaner in with the clean water tank, but of course they don't recommend you do this as they say it can harm the station or robot. If it wasn't for the dirty Reservoir defect I'm dealing with, I would definitely give this more stars, overall it's probably one of the best cleaning robots thus far, minus the defects and aggravation with support! UPDATE: I had nothing but issues with this robot, constant firmware errors, and again like the last Model I got from them it lasted less than a year before it finally croaked, the mop motor stopped functioning correctly, Now it only can vacuum. This has been one of the worst experiences I've had. Their robots just don't last and they scam you out of the warranty.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One month review - this one is the keeper

I evaluated 3 different robots in my house, the first was Dreame X40 Ultra, the second is this one, and the third was Ecovacs X5 Pro Omni. The first thing I evaluated was navigation - the base station location in my house is kind of cornered by a large dining room table with 12 chairs around it. Navigating out of this area (or underneath it when it's time to clean that area under the table) is a pretty critical skill for my house. This is where the Dreame X40 Ultra started to piss me off. It was constantly getting confused by the table and chair legs, pausing for long periods of time and trying to determine what to do. It would often "give up" on the task and just return to base telling me mission accomplished, when it hadn't even begun to clean! In addition, cleaning the whole was very inefficient, and would take f o r e v e r. As a contrast, the Eufy S1 Pro is very efficient. It's obstacle avoidance for stationary objects is amazing. It navigates its way around, and next to almost everything, and just finds ways to continue the cleaning path without getting confused. Its cleaning path itself is very clear, and is executed fast and without any hesitations. The roller mop provides excellent coverage compared to the other 2 robots' duo rotating mops, which often leaves uncovered areas. Its edge cleaning is sufficient, though not perfect, and has improved vastly once I set the obstacle avoidance level in the app to its least sensitive setting. Its mopping is great, and feels very similar to my upright Eufy v1 Mach Ultra which is a very good mopper. The existence of an onboard dirty water tank on the robot and the fact the brush continuously self-cleans itself, is a standout feature compared to almost all other robots, and it allows the robot to return to base much less often, thus further improving the efficiency. It also means it deals with wet stains better, although if you expect it to be able to absorb meaningful amounts of spilled fluids, it's not going to happen. The reason is that unlike the upright mop, the robot separates between the dirty water tank (which is basically the dirty water continuously being extracted from the roller using a squeegee), and the vacuum, which has its own dust bin, and that one needs to stay dry. So no suction of fluids, but still better at mopping wet stains than any of the other robots out there. The vacuuming is also good, although I wouldn't say this is its stand out feature - there are probably better vacuuming robots out there, so if vacuuming is what you mostly care about - I would give other robots a second look. I don't use it with my room carpets, only an area rug in the living room, which it can handle easily. Apart from that, the only real problem I faced with this robot is that there is a specific bathroom mat we use which for some robot this robot tried to vacuum and ends up sucking it to its vacuum port, getting the robot stuck and in need of manual assistance to get untangled. I worked around it by placing a small bathroom stool to block the robot from going over this mat. I could have also placed a virtual barrier in the app that it won't cross. Final word - I had the X5 Pro Omni in my house last week and I had some high hopes, but I returned it right after the fist cleaning. Main reason: the robot got completely tangled in the fringes of my area rug to a point I had to manual untangle it multiple times. Unlike the bathroom mat, I can't really avoid this rug if I want it properly vacuumed, so it seems like a non starter for me. In summary, after having seen all 3 robots in action, I think the Eufy S1 Pro stands out big time on most features, including its mopping, cleaning efficiency, obstacle avoidance, and navigation. Its base station is also great, as it self cleans, empties dirty water, washing mops, and refill clean water - all fully automated. Its noise level is probably not its best trait, although completely manageable IMO, as it's only loud for brief periods of time when the base self-cleans (about 2-3 minutes at the end). Vacuuming at max level will probably also be quite loud, but I use the lower, standard suction setting.
