I “played” with the unit and made nice circles on paper, 3M blue painters tape and 3M frosted transparent tape. I deviated from the instructions a little. I set the radius first, then placed the unit on the paper and rotated the device a few turns, then I added pressure to the knife and rotated again, I continued this process until I could feel the friction of the knife on the paper, then added about another quarter of a turn and the circle separated from the paper. Nice clean cut out! Misses: The radius settings are stamped in the clear plastic and difficult to read, so getting an exact mm measurement is difficult if your trying to get a precisely sized circle (which is what I’m trying to achieve most of the time). So there is some trial and error until I zero in on the size. If you’re just cutting circles for crafts you can skip the trial and error and get good results from the first cut. The size adjustment is a little sticky to move, but I think it will smooth out once it’s broken in. Once the radius is set and locked the unit will continue to cut out identical circles.
