Review: 40mm is internal diameter, it's exactly what they describe. fits my needs just fine! - Reasonably flexible but also quite springy, easy to cut at the thin part, tougher at the thick coiled-spring but not difficult enough to be a problem. Retains a bit of coiled shape but could probably be straightened out with hot water I'm guessing. 40mm would appear to be the internal diameter - I used a 44mm hole saw to cut holes in plastic to fit this through and that's pretty much the perfect size. Fairly good for this purpose and it will fit (just) into 40mm plumbing fittings.
