Closed position should be used if valve needs cleaning **Q: Can you use it for 1/2-inch bsp connections? from the product description you can because it comes with a 1/8 to 1/2 adaptor - so does this one?** A: Mine was a straight replacement so not sure of the connection size **Q: Description, box and instructions claim it can be easily serviced by unscrewing the top.
