It's not suitable for a shower fitting. **Q: how is the 15 year guarantee works?** A: don't know about the 15 year warranty but mine is much better than the one from homebase which i replaced with this one. it looks better and is far cheaper and more to the point still works. **Q: What size is the base. Mine is the 10amp 2-way pull cord switch sold by Bamford Trading and is the Knightsbridge 8300. The exact size is a diameter of 74mm and a height of 36mm, so don't know where you got your measurements from. Believe me this a standard size and looks good. Hope this helps.
