Reliable Internet Anywhere
The Solis Edge has been a reliable, no-hassle travel hotspot. Setup was quick, and I was online in minutes without dealing with carriers or contracts. Speeds are consistent for work, streaming, and multiple devices, and the battery lasts through a full session. The biggest win is buying data when you need it and avoid unreliable hotel Wi-Fi. Compact, dependable, and easy to use. Highly recommend.

Excellent High Speed service where no service exists-No fee for bandwidth. Very satisfied.
I bought this as a stop-gap for one of my managers having to work at a site with no internet. Set up was so easy that I barely read the directions and missed an important step. I treated it like a wireless router and did not attach it to my computer. Very slow. But when I plugged it into my computer I got in the 500mbps download and 100mbps upload, nearly what I was getting at home. It has connections for USB-C so it works well on my mac, my PC and my phone. It also has connections for the old USB and Android. I was so impressed with it I bought another for me when I travel. Not plugged into a power supply, this lasted more than my work-day, which was plenty.. The ABSOLUTE best thing about this hot spot is that "1 Gig" is included, free "for Life". I took that claim lightly, expecting very little more than a pop up subscription requirement, but the free gig seems to be plenty for what I needed (web searching/Email). The price on this absolutely blows away the competition, and this provided a much better solution than I expected.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM SOLIS/SOMO BECAUSE THEIR COMPANY IS AN OUTRIGHT SCAM!
PLEASE SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY AND BUY A PORTABLE WIFI SYSTEM FROM AN ACTUAL REPUTABLE COMPANY, BECAUSE SOLIS/SOMO ISN'T IT! EXACTLY ONE WEEK AGO I SPENT ALMOST $90 FOR A ONE MONTH UNLIMITED INTERNET PLAN FOR MY SOLIS WIFI DEVICE! A WEEK LATER I CAN'T EVEN WATCH MY TV BECAUSE SOLIS'S "CUSTOMER SERVICE" IS CURRENTLY TELLING ME (I HAVE THEM IN A *WORTHLESS* TECH SUPPORT CHAT AS I TYPE THIS): "YOU'VE ALREADY USED YOUR 100 GB OF HIGH SPEED INTERNET FOR YOUR UNLIMITED ONE MONTH PLAN. AFTER THE 100 GB IS USED YOUR SPEED SLOWS DOWN." I TOLD HIM "IF YOU BUY AN UNLIMITED ONE MONTH PLAN AND AFTER ONLY ONE WEEK YOU CAN'T EVEN WATCH YOUR TV, THAT MEANS SOLIS IS ABSOLUTELY USELESS!" HIS RESPONSE WAS (HIS NAME IS MICHAEL): "It is not useless; you still have data, only slower. This information is not hidden from you. At any moment, you can see on the website that it states the data is unlimited, but it slows down afterwards." I RESPONDED "There's literally nothing working in my home. The only tv I have connected keeps going out every 5-10 seconds, so YES it is USELESS when I can't even watch TV with it. I'll just go back to my regular home internet and throw this absolute junk out. it's far cheaper than $90 a month and I've never had any kind of issue like this with ANY internet company before! I can understand a slower speed (which for $90 bucks it's STILL ridiculous that they slow the internet speed down, especially to the extent that NOTHING that uses wifi will even WORK at their "slower speed)"! I also told him that I purchased this JUNK from Amazon and that I WILL be heading to their review section to warn people to STAY FAR AWAY from their scam, which is what I believe it to be!!!! I still have THREE WHOLE WEEKS left of my ONE MONTH "UNLIMITED" PLAN, and as of about 30 mins ago, my ONE MONTH UNLIMITED PLAN is obviously over after only one week...again, for almost $90 bucks!!! If nothing in my home will stay connected to this pile of straight GARBAGE the only thing I have left to say about Solis/SOMO is that it's a SCAM!!!! Once I told "Michael" I was leaving a review on Amazon, he immediately ended the conversation and disconnected the chat! So not only is Solis a SCAM, their customer service is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! My cellphones are through T Mobile and they too slow down unlimited cellphone internet after so much of the high speed internet is used, but guess what? When this happens, I don't even notice it's been slowed down because the internet on my family's phones have ZERO problems staying connected, and there's absolutely ZERO problem watching videos/movies etc., on our cellphones, even when they've slowed down the speed. Oh and on one last horrid note: Solis/Somo wants me to pay ANOTHER $40-$70 to get the high speed data back for the three weeks of my "One Month Internet Plan" that I have left on top of the almost $90 I've ALREADY PAID A WEEK AGO, WHICH I'M ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY NOT DOING!!! They got me once, but it definitely isn't happening TWICE! Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have no idea but I DEFINITELY wish I would have picked a different company because this one is HORRIBLE!

Great for Travel for Such an Incredible Value!
The SIMO Silo Hero 4G LTE has truly exceeded my expectations. I bought this for my 2 week trip to Vietnam. For a device at its price point, it delivers impressive performance, reliable connectivity, and a sleek, practical design that’s perfect for everyday use. One of the standout features is its strong 4G LTE reception. The connection remains stable even in areas where other devices tend to struggle. Apps run smoothly, web browsing feels snappy, and streaming is surprisingly seamless. Battery life is another major win; it easily lasts through a full day of regular use without needing a recharge. The build quality feels solid and comfortable in the hand, and the user interface is clean and easy to navigate. It’s a great option for anyone who wants a dependable device without overspending! Overall, the SIMO Silo Hero 4G LTE delivers far more than expected. Affordable, fast, and reliable! It’s a fantastic value and a device I’d confidently recommend!

Great portable, temporary internet solution
So, I moved recently and the place I'm at has terrible internet. I suppose I could always ask for something better, but since this is a temporary arrangement, I bought this thing to at least get me access for YouTube and Reddit purposes. To that end, this guy is great when it works. When it doesn't work, it's awful and you will want a proper hotspot from a mobile company. Start with the positives: you can buy 100 GB of high speed data in the USA for like $90-$100 a month, which is pretty good. That's the "unlimited" plan. I am one person, and though I am a gamer, I game somewhere else, so this works fine for me. I am almost up to my renewal of my plan and still have 50GB left. Again, not bad. This is also really easy to set up and use. You control this little thing through your phone. You can also connect to other cell towers through your phone signal scanning for another network for this little device to latch onto. Some towers are better than others, which brings me to... First negative: this thing will want to connect to a cruddy AT&T tower rather than the better towers in the area. You'll need to reset it at least once every night and if you power it off/on, you'll need to reset it then too as well. Resetting can take a little bit. Sometimes, when it resets, this device pops up with a "NO INTERNET, action needed" popup and requires you to relog from your browser/phone into the app or website to get access again. The connection is fine for watching videos and playing music or just browsing, but it fails massively on video calls. This thing is choppy AF on video calls. Now, it could be that because I live on the prairie, this thing just has no idea what I want it to do and is crying because it's not a wired connection. That's fair. This is a temporary fix, not a permanent one. If you're in a city, you'll probably be a-okay. I am not in a city, so it's less good for me. NEXT, the battery life is about a day or so. It is a pretty good battery life and it's portable. You charge with USB-C (that's a plus). However, the firmware on this thing is... bad. Reportedly, if you leave this thing on battery power for at least 30 minutes, it will update the device's firmware, but that has not happened for me. You know how Windows Update is determined to make you fix it up with an update? Yeah, this thing has none of that "you WILL update" written into its code, so idk how secure it is. The color is nice and bright, so I know where it's at and I expect that would be great for traveling to make sure you don't leave it behind. You also don't need a SIM, so positives there. But, as I stated, it's... not good as a whole. It's temporary and while you can probably watch shows on this, you can't do video calls or any streaming yourself. It's a very basic Becky type of device, which is not bad, but don't expect to be doing any AAA gaming on this thing. I haven't used it traveling, but it should be great for hotels with the worst wifi in the world (looking at you, midtown Manhattan).

Works well for me
Works well for my purposes. I definitely like to have internet access when I'm out and about. I don't do a lot of streaming, but I do appreciate teh ability to quickly get online with my phone, tablet or chromebook. The free data meets my needs, so this is much cheaper than any other option I've tried.

No more dead zone!
Living in a tiny home in an old campground with ancient wifi has been like trying to connect to the past instead of the internet. We did the wifi cha-cha, buying boosters, to get a signal from the office to our place. We called local ISPs and they wanted a whopping $4000 for the dance! There is no 5G in sight, and the LTE and 4G cell towers were playing hide-and-seek with our phones a few miles away. We ended up doing a phone-to-TV casting circus for movies, and let me tell you, the picture was like going back to the beginning of the digital age – dial-up vibes all the way. Then, we made the big mistake of signing up for a satellite ISP who shall not be named but is known as "we-can't-really-call-it-internet" for two years. Spoiler alert: it was a total flop! I thought people were exaggerating in reviews and just being drama llamas, but nope, it was as bad, if not worse, than they said. The internet speed was slower than a snail on a coffee break, and when I called for help, they blamed it on peak hours and the signal going to space and back. Their solution was to use the internet between 2 - 4 am. Seriously? The only thing it was good for was our security system and some fancy home gadgets. That didn't make up for the crazy bill. I still had to do the internet hustle at the local library. The whole reason we got "we-can't-really-call-it-internet" was to avoid that! Then, along came Solis, our hero in shiny internet armor. I tried it for 30 days, and oh boy, setting it up was easier than telling time on a digital clock. The connection speed was like a rocket, and the app was like having a tech wizard in my pocket. Even my mom, who's 74, bought one and gave it a thumbs up. Now, this little hotspot not only handles our security cameras and smart gadgets but also races alongside me on my computer. No contract drama means we're free birds, adjusting our data use when we're away. So, if you're stuck in the internet dinosaur age like we were, give Solis a spin. It saved us from our internet misadventures, and I wish it had popped up earlier. It would've saved us from pouring money down the drain with "we-can't-really-call-it-internet." Update: it's been a year since we first tried Solis (reviewed 6 months later and we love it so much we paid for a full year of unlimited. It's still great.

My #1 Travel Necessity
I love this portable wifi. I don’t understand why it has mediocre reviews. I waited almost a year to make this review in case I ran into issues that popped up later. I have had none. This is my #1 travel necessity. I don’t like to pay for phone data while abroad, and I also work remotely, so I needed a portable wifi. It has saved me + my travel companions + others on 4 international trips this year (Spain, Iceland, Canada, Colombia). 1) I used it while solo hiking at 10,000 elevation before a storm in order for my friends and family to have record of my location in case something went south. 2) I never have to worry about sketchy wifi at airports. Many of them are NOT regulated / provided by the airport and are serious security risks. As someone who works remotely with data, this is NOT acceptable. 3) Even though I was staying at 3 star and 4 star hotels in Spain (4 different ones), their wifi was not adequate to turn on my video during calls. This wifi allowed me to take meetings like a professional. I haven’t even tried on my other trips to use hotel wifi because I don’t trust it will be good enough. 4) Some of my travel companions have T-mobile and couldn’t get ANY data or cell service in Colombia, and my wifi had service everywhere- including remote islands. 5) It lasts over an entire day charged. I am shocked at how long it lasts. I can keep it on and have 4 people using it without needing to charge it until that night. Even using one person’s phone with hotspot wouldn’t last this long. 6) Spectrum is very unreliable and has a lot of outages in Los Angeles. This wifi gives you free data every month, even if you aren’t buying a plan. It comes in handy when me and my roommates are working from home and our wifi goes out. 7) It is super easy to bring to any coffee shop that doesn’t have wifi provided and work wherever. Everyone who I have traveled internationally with this year has decided to buy one too. They loved it, and I couldn’t recommend it enough. My two minor negative remarks about this wifi is that it can take a few minutes to find signal, and every time you connect to it, you have to click “Done” in your wifi settings. So I just turn it on as I am leaving my hotel room, and then by the time I am out of range of hotel wifi, I have this one to connect to.

Great connectivity, easy set up and functionality!
I originally purchased this device as my home broadband had failed and I needed to stay online to work from home. It's a fabulous product, finding networks easily and the connection is stable. Even better is that you receive 1GB of data free per month, so if you are just needing something to keep you online and not downloading large files then you will not need to pay anything. I travel all over the world for business, and this has kept me online at pretty much every location. The app is simple to use and the various data packages are reasonable for what they are. I would recommend this for people who travel. I am now waiting for the 5G Solis Edge to find it's way to Amazon!

I liked it so much I bought a second one.
A friend recommended the Solis Hotspot to me, he said it was great for travelling overseas. Wow was he right! You arrive somewhere (Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, Canada, Mexico, Honduras, Belize, Bahamas, so far) turn it on and within a minute it has connected to a local cell service and the internet is available through the hotspot. I bought the 4G rather than the 5G but even so I've had 2 phones, a laptop and an iPad connected at the same time and the performance was still good. This is for the second Solis I bought. I liked the first so much I bought a second. I have the renewal dates 12 days apart, so I can get 2GB spread pretty evenly through the month.
