Not as Heavy as others I have used ( and don't stain easily. which is a plus) and great value for six. A: Not tried hot drinks myself, bought them for wine glasses but wife reckons they will be fine. They are toughened glass after all, hard to break but if you do manage to, it will shatter like a car windscreen!

**Q: Are these a smoked colour like the picture suggests?**
A: I wouldn't describe them as smoked. They are 'normal' glass coloured. The pattern around the side is probably catching the light in the picture and perhaps making the colour look different. But mine are transparent and clear and I'm very happy with them!

These are so practical. The drinking glasses I had before, the dishwasher left a white cloudy ring around the top of them. Nothing would get rid of the marks. I then did some research and found out that Duralex are toughened glass and highly resistant to chemical marking and etching, especially in the dishwasher. They are "grandchild-proof" glass. They are made of thick tempered glass that resists chipping, and if they do happen to drop on a hard floor, they are designed to shatter safely into blunt fragments rather than sharp shards. They are comfortable to hold and use and I am very pleased with them.
